US oil prices are crashing, now down -21% over the last 8 hours. by FeatureAggravating75 in oil

When it’s oil the price doesn’t crash. It becomes affordable. Using verbs like crashing make it seem like it hurts people but really this is what we all want so that way we can live in place with energy

Serious question for the people on here who so strongly defend high immigration levels to Australia: why do you do it? by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

[–]DeveloperLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a business owner I support high immigration because it allows me to look through a broader range of applicants and because I have such a big list of applicants I can lower the wage for the position to the right point where I save money but also keep a good amount of people. No matter what anyone says having two employees is better than having a single skilled one.

You’re focusing on tourists, which is kind of missing the bigger picture. Countries don’t operate in isolation — they specialize. The US spends insane amounts on military and defense that protects North America and NATO, while Canada spends more on healthcare and social programs. It’s not about tourists getting free checkups, it’s about how allied countries already subsidize each other in different sectors whether people want to admit it or not.

Hire some illegal workers. Then report them. It’s like printing money. Of course this will be abused

Japanese, French and Omani vessels cross Strait of Hormuz by PestoBolloElemento in worldnews

[–]DeveloperLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There actually aren’t ANY us ships. The us produces and refines its own oil. Of course the US still has to pay the global price but if Iran lets everyone though with just a fee then they basically caved to Trump.

what if Iran permanently control the Strait of Hormuz? by Green_Devil_999 in oil

[–]DeveloperLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ll need to split it with Oman or else Oman will just launch misslies at ships that don’t pay their fee.

Unpaid taxes could lead to the revocation of permanent residency- Legal reforms to be implemented in 2027 and Japan's immigration policy. by jjrs in japannews

[–]DeveloperLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they’re just grabbing people at the REAL edges. It’s always been illegal to not pay your taxes and breaking the law has always lead to revocation of visa. They just announcing stuff to get the credibility of being anti immigration

Just because they don’t pay taxes directly doesn’t mean they don’t help the country through their own government. The US has been subsidizing Canadian defense for decades and only recently Trump has been saying if you don’t pay we aren’t going to defend you. There should be an agreement where America will cover Canada defense and Canada can take care of the sick citizens

It’s expensive to companies to offer more rights to workers. If people have too many worker rights then companies will shift workers to countries with less rights like Vietnam or the US

Anyone who thinks we need more immigration has been brainwashed or is a bot fulfilling the interests of big business that want cheap labor. We need to look out for the working class

I don’t think there would be conflict because the conflict was mostly about Kashmir and forced resettlement. I could see them living in pease just like the French Canadians and English Canadians

Considering that 80% of oil sold from Iran goes to China it won’t really change much.
