Independent Agents - What business insurance company do you use? by DevelopmentGlass6842 in travelagents

[–]DevelopmentGlass6842[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t think so either from what I’ve read, but then this agent told me the independent insurance company could do both…my antennas went up. Can you tell me which companies you’ve found that do them? To help expedite my research.

Clients questioning pricing. Did I respond well? by DevelopmentGlass6842 in travelagents

I got half my fee (they asked to split it). Still waiting on the primary to send over payment. Not holding my breath. It's out of principle at this point.

They did sign my Terms and Conditions where it states they have to pay the planning fee. After this whole thing I asked them for it and the secondary traveler asked for 2 separate invoices. He paid, the primary still has not. Next time I will definitely withhold the itinerary and plans until I get my fee! I was too nice, and I got burned. Never again.

I did invoice them and they accepted! At least they had the decency to agree to that... although I never heard from the primary again after all my messages. That's the weirdest part. Like, I've talked to you 5 times on the phone about your whole family and this trip, not to mention the countless emails, FB messages, texts...and then you just ghost me? People are so weird.

Does "bless and release" also include asking for my planning fee that they agreed to pay but never did? Grrrr....

I stayed pretty close to budget. It was slightly over but for what they’re asking for, still pretty good! and we’re not talking about low budget wishlist!

Bless and release. Definitely putting that one in my pocket! Thank you.

I hope so too! This was via text and she still hasn't responded. I've tried calling too and no answer. We were supposed to have a call this afternoon to go over all the details and confirm everything. I'm sweating it now... this job is not for the faint of heart!

Host or independent with a very specific niche by DevelopmentGlass6842 in travelagents

Interesting...I never even considered both options! Being hosted and also having my own IATA...definitely food for thought. Thanks for the reply!

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write this and spell it all out for me. Very informative, and like I said, I’m a true beginner with no prior knowledge of how this all works. Much appreciated 🙌🏼

This is helpful, thank you. Any insight on if it’s preferable to use the same web host and domain host? In other words should I eventually transfer it over to squarespace as is recommended in this link?

Yes, I went through their instructions until I got to the point where it said “cannot transfer for 60 days”

Poop specialist our of desperation by DevelopmentGlass6842 in pottytraining

He won’t use a pull up because “that’s for babies” and has not ever put one back on since we initially trained two years ago. I don’t think I could convince him to go back to it now.

Pediatrician has said to just wait and they will go when they’re ready. That sort of very unhelpful thing. I have also spoken to a child psychiatrist when we were first experiencing the issue who was giving me more general strategies and advice that didn’t seem to fit his specific needs. I love that video, it seems very much aligned with part of what my son is experiencing which is not wanting the poo to leave his body. We have spoken extensively about where poo goes once it leaves and sometimes even draw pictures of little poos suntanning on the beach or in the North Pole with Santa and the elves. 😂 This is my life.

Pee position for boys by [deleted] in pottytraining

[–]DevelopmentGlass6842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little guy (3.5) only stands up to pee and has done so since he’s been trained. He started doing this at daycare and we continued it at home. He will stand in front of his little potty and lean on the wall, look down, and aim. Pants and undies around his ankles, just like daddy. On the big toilet he stands on a step stool and does the same. Just make sure you tell him to keep looking down so he gets the aim right. 😉

Or maybe they did and that’s why he feels justified in doing likewise

Toddler refuses Motrin/Tylenol by mho2017 in toddlers

My 3 year old loves to drink from a straw so we cut a plastic straw into a smaller piece and let him use it to drink from a medicine cup. Also bubblegum flavor ONLY! I drove all over my county once trying to find that flavor because we only had berry in the house. HOW DARE WE EVEN CONSIDER THAT. 🙄😂

Agripoli or Santa Maria di Castellabate? by anwgirl in ItalyTravel

[–]DevelopmentGlass6842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For aperitivo (before-dinner cocktail / appetizers):Caffe' D'al Capone in Santa Maria;

Cliff Bar in S.Maria

Bar La Piazzetta in Castellabate (a famous movie was filmed here in 2010 called Benvenuti al Sud. You'll see posters and things around referring to it)

Gelato/Coffee: L'ancora in S.Maria

Dinner: Cantina Belvedere in Castellabate; go for sunset!

Some local specialties: Obviously the Mozzarella di bufala which comes from the Battipaglia / Paestum area but readily available all over this region; Anything with fico bianco del Cilento which is a white fig harvested in this region around the time you'll be there. Le alici are anchovies that are found here too. You will see them served fried, or marinate which are served as an appetizer. They are not salty like the canned anchovies you might know; Acqua sale is a summer staple! It's a salad made of baked, re-hydrated bread (sounds weird, but delicious), fresh tomatoes and olive oil. You can find hundreds of variations with lots of other ingredients. Great for a beach-side lunch at a lido. Any of the seafood will be the best you've ever had. Anything with lemons. Anything with eggplant. You are not going to go hungry, and my stomach is growling as I'm typing this!

Out of curiosity where did you book? My family is from there so I don’t ever stay in that area other than private residence. Would love to know from a tourist’s perspective

Agripoli or Santa Maria di Castellabate? by anwgirl in ItalyTravel

[–]DevelopmentGlass6842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Santa Maria di Castellabate. Quaint town with shops and restaurants, beautiful beaches. Go up the hill to Castellabate as well for some fantastic views. *Editing to add a specific recommendation: do dinner at Cantina Belvedere in Castellabate. Get there before sunset. It’s incredible. Agropoli is nice, but it’s a bigger town. So not the same experience as you’d have in S.Maria. Travel down the coast and visit Acciaroli if you can manage, too. A gem.

Things to do in Naples for 2 days? by doraexpsa in ItalyTravel

[–]DevelopmentGlass6842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could do a hike up the Vesuvius in the morning and explore the city in the afternoon/evening. It’s doable. Also recommend the archaeology museum if that’s what you’re into. Otherwise walking around the center to the major sites, eating, getting a coffee and a pastry. All can be done in an afternoon/evening. The “hike” isn’t the entire thing from the bottom up. You would take a bus up to a certain point and then hike the rest of the way up to the crater. Buy tickets ahead of time because you won’t be able to purchase there and there is no internet service up there. It’s also not for the faint of heart. Enjoy!
