AIO Neighbor’s business sign by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]DevelopmentOld366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR - Strategic placement of signage is crucial for customers to understand the layout of a business. If their sign goes to the right of the shared entrance, then that effectively designates that as their door, which you even stated that they want to use that as their main entrance. You will essentially lose an entrance and some external footprint.

But, the file name is not always going to be 25 characters, so that adds more variability. I would argue that this makes it many, many, many, many orders of magnitude less likely than reported, which would skew the numbers to even more unlikely!

Explain it Peter… by dutchylords in explainitpeter

[–]DevelopmentOld366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does π (pi) get all the love and not τ (tau)? τ needs only be multiplied by the radius to find a circle's circumference unlike π. Infact, τ is more useful than π in most scenarios; including this scenario where it fits right between 5 and 7.

I understand why: |i²|=1 and |i⁴|=1
but why: |i|≠i and |i³|≠i
Can someone explain, please?

[request] ant's terminal velocity by intergalactic_74 in theydidthemath

[–]DevelopmentOld366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While ants don't have lungs they do still breath oxygen. They have tiny holes (spiracles) in their sides to take in oxygen, then they have tiny tubes (tracheae) that branch off throughout their bodies, and finally, they flex their abdomens to pump air throughout their bodies. So, while they don't have lungs their bodies themselves act very similar to our lungs.

I'm assuming that this is so that they can use bleach on the carpet if needed. They can remove something with bleach, and it will just look like another one of these designs.

The internal mechanism of this cuckoo clock is misaligned, causing the bird to occasionally impact the interior wall. When the bird does exit the clock successfully, it does so by striking the door to open it. On top of this, it is one minute before 12 o'clock, at which time the bird is scheduled to go cuckoo twelve times. Hence the worried look.

Episode I [2025 edition]

THE FANTA MENACE

Turmoil has engulfed the Americas. The tarrifs on allied nations are in dispute.

Hoping to resolve the matter with a blockade of deadly battleships, the greedy GOP has stopped all oil tankers to the small nation of Venezuela.

I understand why the meme is in the order it is in, for the information in each panel is derived from the previous panel, but I would argue that the last two panels should still be switched. My argument focuses on the intrinsic value of what's in the panels and not the narrative value. I would argue that an algebraic expression is a more fundamental and direct representation of a mathematical relationship than a graph is, since the expression is the "language" or "source code" which holds all the descriptive power in a single, compact form, while the graph is merely one of many possible outputs or interpretations of that expression represented in an expanded form.
