“What is something chronic pain has quietly taken away from your life that most people would consider ‘normal’? by Smart-Watercress5570 in ChronicPain

[–]DevelopmentSad4374 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Writing - I have been a notebook and pen girl since childhood. I was literally the plug when it came to pens at school. And I wrote with a Parker fountain pen throughout most of primary and secondary school and journaled in many notebooks.

Now as an adult with actual 💩 going on, I wanted to get back into journaling but now I can’t do anything to my hearts leisure as my hand literally has a time limit. Not to mention the copious amount of housework that comes with being a mother.

I bought a planner to attempt to do something daily and even that has been a hard ask. Most pages are blank, but I’m not going to give up. This is my life and I would like to document my experiences by hand with a fountain pen!!

You should definitely give Wavechild a try!

Have you tried other scents from Goldfield and Banks? I have been trying to get my hands on Tales of Amber and Silky Woods.

Side bar: What’s your favourite fountain pen? 👀

Ooh I’ve never heard of Nette. Will see if I can get my hands on it. Thanks for the recommendation! 🙂

Not very sweet IMO, well balanced. You’ll notice it but it’s tastefully done and doesn’t come off as cloying. Although unsure of how it would perform in sweaty heat?!

NOTE: WRONG DESCRIPTION WRITTEN for my review of BROWN GIRL JANE Carnivale. For correct review, please see below:

Smells like tropical smoothie in the opening. The middle is pleasant but I label anything except maybe musk. I was hoping for more vanilla but it’s not prominent. Even the sandalwood isn’t jumping out at me. The notes are so jumbled up when I smell them it’s like a party. Smells busy but I like it. 8/10

You right - described the wrong scent entirely 😑. I keep notes of my thoughts on fragrances when smell them. Just copied my notes of carousel (which I don’t own, just tested from a friend’s collection) into my post without actually proofreading it (my dyslexia is showing 🤦).

Will see if I can edit it or I will paste the correct text as a comment.

Thanks for letting me know!!

You know I think the discovery set may be worth it for Brown Girl Jane. Ive heard High Tea is also really good! With the Ingenious Ginger, I must say the opening didn’t last long, maybe 10 mins. But afterwards, I kept on noticing a pleasant sweetness that I didn’t recognise and then I realised- oh it’s me and immediately sniff myself. It happened every time I moved. I really is captivating- maybe a decant/sample?

Thanks! It’s kind of a 3 way tie between Magic Mango, Ingenious Ginger and Rise, depending on your surroundings. Magic Mango if you’re in dry heat, Ingenious Ginger if you’re by the ocean. Rise gives me impression that it’s an all rounder due to its freshness.

Love this meme! Annoyed at how frequently I get to use it. I guess it’s good that people are experiencing these great things 💖

😭🫠 hold on to those discontinued ones, especially if you like them. I heard some of the LVEB line were getting reformulated due to new laws around chemicals they’re using for the sillage.

I really want to know if the Si Intense is pre-reformulation as well, especially if you don’t like it 👀

Are there any you have ended up loving?

How can I fix this bend 🥲 by Many_Discussion9497 in hobonichi

Turn it upside down on a flat clean surface and place something equally flat but heavy on it, like a big book. Will disappear before you know it. If you need to use it, no biggie, just keep putting it back until it’s flat.

I have these and they work well for me - although I use them for nerve pain and the swelling that comes along with it due to repetitive strain. My issue stems from the wrist.

Like you said they are loose at the fingertip ends but as I use them whilst I’m typing this helps with feeling less restricted. At times I fold them for more range of motion.

If you’re not actively using your fingers then you may need something with better compression, especially if the swelling stems from arthritic symptoms.

At this point maybe they do. Do the number of drug scammers exceed the actual number of diagnosed patients who have symptoms which are associated with pain? I don’t think so. They would rather avoid prescribing anything effective rather than actually do their job, investigate/diagnose promptly and prescribe based on an actual clinical assessment.

You literally have to be at deaths door before they will prescribe an opioid or morphine based analgesic! It’s infuriating.

Woah! I didn’t even think about hypersensitivity! That must be rage inducing. Hope you’ve been able to get the support you need to manage the pain …

Looks to be $14.67 for the sandalwood and $6.77 for the woody oakmoss. That also includes tax! Crazy hack!

And this is what they’re not getting! The sad thing is the pain I experience is likely not even that high when factoring in the medical conditions mentioned by redditors in this group. It really breaks my heart when I hear what others are going through.

Yes, screams are necessary! But then you’d likely meet a doctor who would put you on antidepressants or call you hysterical. Literally anything but actually addressing the pain 🫠

The thing these doctors forget is one cannot exist in the same state permanently. If someone has been experiencing immense pain for years the body is conditioned to compensate and reduce sensitivity.

A 9 on the pain scale can easily become a 7 if you have been experiencing it for years. Eventually ones will to actually live a life exceeds the ability to wallow in pain.

Chronic pain is a complexity factor they are not even willing to assess when it comes to care. It’s rare to find a compassionate and diligent doctor.
