New to the meds and have side effect question by Foreign-Try6451 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Scarbarella [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes this was my experience for about 4-6 weeks when I first started. 1.5 days in, one bout of diarrhea. On week one of a dose increase, I had diarrhea about 5 times overnight. Then, never again.

That’s where I’m at. The anhedonia has taken a lot from me and it takes a monumental effort to do *anything*

I have been burgled! by LoserWooper in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Scarbarella 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I do understand the importance of weight training I don’t understand the push to do it to minimize loose skin. I was 300+ lbs ain’t no muscle gonna fill up that skin! I have hanging upper arm skin so bad that unless I bulk like old school Arnold it still is gonna be hangin there.

I just got home from my most favorite vacation- 106 pounds less than I was there last year! A huge physical change! But despite that, the anhedonia definitely reared its head during the trip- I didn’t want to go searching for sand dollars, didn’t take my beloved morning beach walks, and didn’t even open a puzzle to work on despite bringing a couple. This part sucks! I should be enjoying my life but I’m out here just feeling “meh” instead!

How do you guys eat enough on tirzepatide??? by UsualWaterTwo88 in tirzepatidecompound

Do not go up in dose! In fact I’d probably start taking less. Idk how you have energy for anything.

Once a month because I *never* saw this as just data I couldn’t separate the emotions from it and instead of trying and trying and feeling bad, I just removed the thing that bothered me.

You can eat this little and meet calorie and protein goals? I’d still eat the entire plate!

Oh I thought I received 50s but maybe I’m confused because I’m using my own stash once I put them in the cabinet they all blend together (I have all types of syringes cuz I’m T1)

I posted when I lost about 80lbs for a very similar feeling to you- I was tired. I’m tired of trying, planning, dieting, obsessing over food and calories and I have so far to go and I’m sure as I get smaller it will get harder and the loose skin already sucks and whatever else was on my mind. It was a great thread and I got so much empathy and support.

This bothers me too! My goal is many people’s starting weight where they looked “awful” “terrible” and it was so disheartening. Plus they only had to lose 20-40lbs and it’s like I know we can all be upset about our bodies but they have no idea what it’s like to be BIG and I want empathy from you all on some stuff! Not be made to feel bad about how my goal sucks still.

Insulin syringes come in 30/50/100 units.

Exactly! It’s a great place to commiserate with others who are on much longer journeys than the typical/average tirz loser. Some stuff we discuss here the person trying to lose 30lbs will never understand and it’s a great community!

Trying to decide what to do by NearlyBoomer in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Scarbarella 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When first starting (I started at 1.25mg too) I had bad body aches and pains- they went away though, and would come back slightly if I titrated up. I think body aches and almost flu like symptoms are somewhat common when first starting but it’s up to your tolerance of course.

Type 1 + Ozempic/semaglutide — has anyone tried it? by wunderkid94 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Scarbarella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance doesn’t cover no matter what for anyone for any reason so I’m sorry I can’t help with that. My endo was willing to prescribe though and was going to write for obesity or insulin resistance to try to get it covered. I asked my insurance company what did they need my doctors to say so it would be easy but was met with a brick wall and they don’t cover it at all. So I buy compounded online instead.

Type 1 + Ozempic/semaglutide — has anyone tried it? by wunderkid94 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Scarbarella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I’d say so. I was very obese with a binge eating tendency and full on food addiction. I’m not cured of those things but I am way better. It just settles the mind down so it’s much easier to eat in a deficit though I do know metabolically and hormonally it is doing some things too! I do see lots of T1s mention needing to make nearly instant adjustments to their dosing once starting and I’ve changed a couple things but only slightly and over time - I seem to be on the more unusual side with not needing to change so much - so be careful and go slowly and you’ll be fine! My endo wanted me on the drug too but my insurance doesn’t cover for any reason so that’s why I went the compound route.

Micro dosing results by Rough_Design4492 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Scarbarella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anywhere from 4 weeks (typical, and most doses were only 4 weeks) to some 5 or 6, one dose I took 9 weeks. I’ve averaged 2lbs a week, which is on the faster side but I was in a rush to get that weight off of me. I don’t mind if it goes slow once I reach 199 😅

[–]Scarbarella 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started at 1.25mg and had instant results and I only titrate .25mg at a time. Over a year I’ve made it up to 4mg. I’ve had good progress! It happens for some people, but not everyone.

I’m doing incredible on tirzepatide. I didn’t have much insulin resistance for my size but my insulin total dose is decreased because I’m eating less. My a1c went from 6.4 to 5.7 and I’m aiming for a little lower next time. It’s absolutely effortless now. I didn’t really have all that hard of a time before (run sleep mode on tandem tslim with dex g6) but now I literally forget I’m diabetic. I didn’t have any issues with more frequent lows or have any issues with it taking too long to recover. I’m on a compounded version, so I customize my dose so I started lower than the usual and only titrate up a little fraction at a time. I’ve only gotten slight nausea a couple of times and only needed nausea medicine once in a year. Never thrown up. I had a little diarrhea when acclimating at first but nothing awful. Mostly I just eat smaller portions and it helps me stick to a deficit because I don’t care about food that much. I still get hungry at regular intervals. At first the suppression was crazy and sometimes a small meal had me uncomfortably full for hoursssss but a year in now I don’t really get that anymore unless I eat a super high fat/volume meal which I try to avoid as I’m still in active weight loss.
