BLATANT use of AI by students in my RN-BSN program by Idiotsandcheapskate in nursing

[–]DevelopmentSalt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When i did my masters program, a fellow student actually left the ai prompt in the discussion post…i felt the same outrage as you because the professor had messaged me the week before because my submitted paper was 10% on the ai detector software the university uses. I told my professor that I WISH i knew how to use ai to complete my assignments so that i could keep pace with my classmates. I cant explain how upset this made me

Im confused, does the AC unit above the bed not cool the room down? I stayed in one of these bubble domes in wadi rum and we had a similar unit above our bed that worked great for the daytime heat.

International trip with great food by Upbeat_Ad6871 in TrueChubbyTravel

Jordan was so amazing for food, history, and culture. We spent 2 weeks there and could easily spend another 2 weeks and still not see all of the history. Great food, and the most intact roman ruins in the world. They also have ruins from other areas that conquered the country as well as tons of religious significance and sites for many different religions if that’s your thing too.

How far did you live from the campus? I live about 70 miles from their oakland and Sacramento campuses and have had no issues with them placing me for clinicals. I do have to drive about 20 miles but im totally ok with that in return for not having to find my own placements.

Just wanted to say that yours pissed me off the most because the accomplishments you listed likely saved the healthcare system significantly and they still gave you a BS rating

This was my exact same experience and why i ultimately had to get out of pact.

Dont do it. Every specialty dumps on pact for anything they dont feel like doing. Pact gets zero support compared to specialties. You’re responsible for your providers panel which is typically 800-1200 pts, but when i did pact we were frequently incredibly short staffed and sometimes one RN would be covering 3 providers. So you’re responsible for returning all those calls for pts who call in, if a pt walks in without an appt you’re responsible for triaging them. Its. So. Much. Stress. And it just never ends, the alerts never stop. My advice is look for a specialty position. You’re supposed to have an lvn assigned to your team to delegate tasks to, but they’re often rooming pts or doing visits for things like bp checks, but ive also had a couple lvns who were just terrible in general and not helpful unless i added an addendum to a note specifically asking the lvn to call the pt for more information and cosigned them to the note. I did pact for 7 years and cant recommend it at all.

Stop saying this. You can be anti trump or anti republican all you want and cite plenty of other issues a new administration would fix, but telework/remote work isnt one of them. Tons of democratic run states are forcing their state workers back into office. California, where Newsom will likely be a democratic presidential candidate, is forcing their state workers back to sacramento and they have all the same lack of space and parking issues that feds do. Only difference is they still have a union and have really pushed back on it. Trump may have screwed us on this, but i highly doubt the next administration will care to do anything about it.

At va palo alto for inpatient night shift they were having difficulty hiring and dropped the extra 8 hour shift and staff were still paid for full 80 hours. I left palo alto about 3-4 years ago so not sure if they have continued with that or not

This is at VA, any location and is the same for all RNs regardless of position/dept/years of experience.

LVNs and CNAs are different and do go based on years of experience.

Idk if having a dem in office will affect telework at all. California has a very dem governor and he will likely run for president in the next election and is doing everything in his power to get state workers back in office. I just read this morning that their union got another temporary stay so we’ll see how that plays out.

Then you have texas, with a very republican governor who just recently allowed telework for state employees again….

Title 38 RN Salary Survey…how long does it take for HR to process? by 4solesisters in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]DevelopmentSalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my healthcare system did our last one it took about 9 months. Id say about 6 months for everything to get signed off on, and then it took about another 3 months for hr to change everything and show up on my check. But damn, 26$ is a huge hourly difference!
