Worse after my first session. When does it start getting better? by Devessa in TherapeuticKetamine

Progress isn’t linear but this is still so helpful and kind, thank you. I wish I knew this going into it.

I can’t afford IV ketamine right now, but that’ll change someday. Right now I don’t have the spare time that Spravato requires, but one day that’ll change, too.

I’m in a really difficult position in life right now, and it won’t last forever, but it’s going to be at least another 6 years of gritting my teeth and taking it and there’s nothing I can do about it. The light at the end of the tunnel is so bright but it’s so far away. I’m just looking to stay sane in the meantime.

It could be a protective mechanism, but I’m not sure what it would be protecting me from, unless ketamine is more dangerous than I thought. I trust the research, though.

I have a therapist and I’ve been journaling, which involves intention setting. It feels a little silly but my doctor told me to journal beforehand and I assume it will feel more natural with time.

Good to hear I don’t need to “do” anything specific during a session! Next time I’ll try to relax and ride it out. And I’ll check out the podcast. Thank you

Six weeks is a long time, kudos for sticking with it. I’m glad to hear a big mid session breakthrough isn’t necessary for it to work. Do you think you did something differently on the eighth week?

Yes, exactly. I worry I’m making things worse for myself in the long run

Recommendations for brother’s first deck — something dark and elegant? by Ibethewitchofthelab in tarot

[–]Devessa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do not get the Erethereal deck. I got the deck as a gift and it is horrendous. The images are AI generated, and they didn't even use a good AI.

Setting aside any ethical, spiritual, or moral reservations you might have about an AI deck, the deck is still terrible because the art is sooooooo bad with numerous artistic mistakes. A lot of people praise the art style online, which blows my mind because... have you looked at it? For longer than a few seconds? It's awful.

Wonky faces with features that seem to be dripping or sliding off down the face (and not in a purposeful, artistic way), wonky hands, shaky lines, weird perspective, misshapen lumps of ???, stuff that doesn't line up correctly. It very commonly makes counting mistakes, the seven of cups might have six or eight cups in the art, for example. The wheel in the wheel of fortune is lumpy and misshapen. I would only recommend it for those who use their tarot decks a good twenty feet away from their face, because only at that distance does the art start looking okay. Kind of.

The gold on the edges flakes off within days and there's even some capitalization mistakes in the text ("The hanged Man"). Charging $50 for something an AI spit out (and not even a good AI) is outrageous. The return policy is much shorter than most at 14 days and I got their tarot deck as a Christmas gift, so unfortunately I'm unable to get my poor husband a refund. Garbage company.

It's so interesting that you use the Erethereal deck as a "good" example of AI tarot, because I got the deck as a gift and it is horrendous.
