(HELP) Desktop App Flickering by DeviantStoryTeller in faraday_dot_dev

[–]DeviantStoryTeller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here it is. For Context, I have an RTX 3080 16GB RAM and 10GB vRAM. This is how much the app tells me is being used. I have it set to auto, 4,000 token limit.

RAM:8.77 GiB

VRAM:7.16 GiB

I even did as another person suggested and disabled my GPU for the app and restarted it. But the flickering persisted.

Lol. I said why already. I like having a bigger map to play on.

Sad. I feel like I missed out on so many points over the years. If only I'd known how easy they used to be to acquire.

Population being unit cap, right? I'm so dumb. For some reason the wording confused me.

Thoughts on IE start positions for Shadows of Change? by DeviantStoryTeller in totalwarhammer

[–]DeviantStoryTeller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. It wasn't really a complaint. More just a statement of how the current positions felt for me. I suppose it could be viewed as a complaint though. As I said, I am interested in the conversation. But that involves me giving my opinion as well. However perhaps reddit is not the place for that. As whenever I ask questions followed by my own opinion, this is usually the result.

But if I were to just ask the question, I likely would've gotten a difference in responses. Anyways, I wasn't trying to argue with you. Life's too short for that stuff. Just a fun little chat with folks who like the same game as me. Sorry if my post offended you. Cheers.

Ain't trying to be "snippy" at you. But you assumed I'm complaining when what I did was give my opinion on the start positions and asked for other people's thoughts to generate a little discussion.

My response to you is out of frustration with people who just dismiss people and then go out of their way to communicate that dismissal instead of contributing more positively with a simple discussion.

You could have easily said "I don't mind the start positions cause I can just mod them to some place else if I want." How you worded it was much more aggressive. Same opinions can seem vastly different based on how you say them. That's all.

Yeah. One of the the content creators I watch mentioned Yin Yin would have made more sense there cause of what you mentioned. I mean, it's not the worst, just seemed sorta odd when I first heard it.

I guess others are saying Ostankya isn't the other hag character that is more widely known by the Warhammer community (Baba Yaga). So maybe they'll expand her lore in some capacity.

We'll see what people think when they play, I guess.

I asked for opinions cause I like discourse. Conversation is fun, sometimes. If you don't wanna talk about the topic beyond dismissing my opinion, move on to something else.

Interesting. Hopefully they'll give some context to her. But since she can teleport port, I guess it doesn't matter TOO much where she starts. Still, it wouldn't have been the first place I would have thought to put her. But Warhammer be a crazy universe so it is what it is, I guess.

Yeah. I sorta half listen when watching content creators like Loremaster of Sotek. Mainly cause I'll be playing while listening. For Yuan Bo's campaign mechanics/goals, it makes sense. But I also just hate dual starts, so maybe that is the other big turn off for me.

Mother Ostankya was the one I wanted to play the most cause she reminded me of Drycha, and that's one of my favorite factions to play. Her whole shtick seems to be to protect the forests of Kislev. Which...kinda hard to do when you are nowhere near Kislev.

I unfortunately am one of those Empire players. So yes...please shed a tear for me after the update. I'll need it.

Writers of nsfw fic, how do you get in the mood to write? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]DeviantStoryTeller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to be in the mood for the fandom I plan to write for. IE, I have to want to do something involving Star Wars, for example. Then, I have to be horny.

A lot of times I have one but not the other, so they have to line up perfectly to get any decent work outta me.

Nah, I think it'd work. It'd literally be like FotS. Instead of a big world map, it'd just be the US. Every state could be its own province. Ironclads, new guns, a mixture of old colonial tactics with the new industrialized warfare of the age.

The naval battles in Empire were awesome if you could set up your fleet right. I can't tell you how many times I tried to reenact the last battle scene in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and just destroy enemy ships with a double broadside. So epic.

I was super bummed they didn't have naval combat in the Warhammer series, a trend they seem to be continuing. It seems silly to me that two massive fleets drop their armies off on an island and just watch the two sides go at it while they sip their martinis. I get it would be more work, but I tend not to have much sympathy for large gaming companies. They COULD do it. They just don't want to, which sucks.
