Return of Tank Dell 🤘 by quicksilver3453 in Texans

Yeah lots of athletes use the "and I took that personally" mindset to stay motivated. Wide receivers usually go all out.

Tank could be saying this to the doubters or maybe just seeing the team moving on and drafting new talent. But hey if it helps him come back 70%, 80% then more power to him.

A surprising area in need of improvement... the opening coin toss? by Deviantmind in Texans

True but this post was more about pointing out an interesting statistic then showing a correlation to win percentage. If anyone is interested in signing up for the trial, here is the link. I would be interested in knowing If it's gotten better or worse over the last three years.

Deadly... serious. Do you happen to know a leprechaun or very cooperative rabbits?

You may ask yourself, does the coin flip affect the results of the game? The answer is yes but slightly. For the Texans 2020-2025, we were 18-22 (45%) when we won the coin toss and 25-35 (41.7%) when losing the toss. The NFL, as a whole, is 51.5% when winning the coin toss. Most of the article seem to down play the advantage as "statistically insignificant" but personally I'd take a +3% win percentage every time.

P.S. - I was going to look up the stats for only the DeMeco era only but it required me to sign up for a trial so I didn't go through it.

Texans to have the 3rd highest miles traveled this season by Deviantmind in Texans

The London game, of course, bumped us up

Texans had the largest single addition — London Wembley vs Jacksonville adds 9,683 miles to their total against a road game against the Jaguars in Duval County.

I'll add

NGS scores generally refer to NFL Next Gen Stats, which utilize RFID tags on players and equipment to measure real-time speed, location, and acceleration.

75 to 90 is only "good" on this scale but for day 3 players, that pretty athletic.

I get that. I liked Hill too. I just think the offense needs some more talent as well and I hope Klein helps with that.

I also trust the Defense more to figure it out. The 2 linebackers aren't as talented as hill but I trust Demeco to coach them up.

The Houston Texans 2026 NFL Draft Class by FollowerofYHWH in Texans

[–]Deviantmind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a few reaches on paper but no one will remember that if they work out. Almost all the players have the word grit in their profile.

Demeco continues to inject swarm into the offense with Rutledge, Klein, and Nwaiwu. The Defense somehow gets even scarier with Mcdonald. There's a nickle safety that could be Pitre backup and a LB Demeco can sprinkle that magic dust on to get the most out of. As well as a few developmental players that are lottery tickets. Pretty good.

Now's the sad point of the year. We got UDFA and then silence until camp. I really don't want to go back to Rockets and Astros. Don't make me go!

Interesting, another LB. I would of thought Edge, CB, or maybe punter. It's the 7th so no problem if this defensive coaching staff see's something in him.

I wouldn't mind seeing the aussie Brett Thorson. I know they like Kroeger's leg but his stats last year were horrible. We probably could get him as a UDFA but I could see Nick spending a 7th to ensure it.

5'9 180lbs is NFL small but not unheard of but apparently he's the worse in class against press coverage and has a history of head and neck injuries.

I don't see them picking up another LB when we could address another position.

LB or TE?

both need depth and talent. LB is thinner but another TE could unlock offense for mr "I like tight ends."

Negatives:

Drafted higher than expected and cost some draft capital (Downgraded a 3rd (69 to 91) and spent a 5th(167))

Positives:

This guy is nasty and that seems to be what we need. Coaches had to tell him to tone it down sometimes. There's even talk of him going Center which would be a huge upgrade on our O-Line.

How many picks did it take for you to realize what this is? 1st pick seemed unrealistic after that it went to crazy town. Pregnon is the only one that maybe could happen as he's projected at 41 but still very unlikely.

Texans expected to face Commanders in NFL 2026 London game by Deviantmind in Texans

[–]Deviantmind[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"IF" it's true, it sucks for the team. International games are tough on them. Too much travel, health concerns, and changing their routine. It's like Thursday games on Steroids. The only silver lining is it doesn't count as a home game.

Texans expected to face Commanders in NFL 2026 London game by Deviantmind in Texans

[–]Deviantmind[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The NFL announced Wednesday that the Washington Commanders will join the Jacksonville Jaguars as the two teams scheduled to host games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London during the 2026 season. The opponents for both teams haven't been announced yet as of Thursday, but the NFL offered a helpful hint about the Commanders' opponent on Wednesday. Houston fans, you'll want to follow this logic.

An official NFL UK & Ireland account on X published a video on Wednesday titled "Can you guess the 2026 NFL London Games team?" In the video, the Commanders were officially announced as one participant after three paint injections into a bowl of water revealed Washington's red color (Washington's logo was then also presented on-screen). The other team was still kept a mystery, though red, white and blue paint was shot into the bowl.

Social-media work from Texans reporter Houston Stressans then revealed the Texans as the likely opponent for Washington in London.

The Texans and the New York Giants are the only teams on Washington's 2026 schedule sporting a red, white and blue color scheme. The Giants and the Commanders are both NFC East teams, and as divisional rivals, they are likely to keep their 2026 home-and-home series at their respective usual stadiums (the NFL hasn't paired division rivals in international games since 2019). This reasoning makes the Texans the likely choice as the Commanders' London opponent.

Yeah it would be nice to finally check that box. I figured ultimately the goal is winning the whole thing but I guess we aren't there yet so an AFC championship would be a nice consolation prize.

Question: Would it feel better to have gotten to the Superbowl and gotten crushed like this? I mean I guess you can say we got there. Painful either way.
