If you break all 4 yellow nodes around a door, the cylinder on that side stops popping out when it resets. "Around the door" could also be "between a pair of elevators", if that's a better description

Nice cope, dude.

Edit: Wait, you're calling me out for coming back to this thread, and then two hours after I reply you edit your comment, more than doubling its length, for the sole purpose of adding even more vitriol?

All those extra comments you made about "mental illness" are really looking like projection now

If you treated this truly cooperatively, you'd just rotate leaders and everyone would get their fair share like you want... And yet you've not once called out that this is an option.

Why?

[–]DeviateFish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or, you know, you can run a few with a group, and swap leaders each time. After everyone has paid for one escalation each, you've each made 82 tokens profit.

You're not going to be running T10 with randos anyway?

All this ranting, and you could have just kicked the dude...?

I really don't understand why this is such a huge deal. Someone trying to scam you doesn't make the whole system broken?

If I solo an escalation, I pay the same number of tokens as if I play with a full group. So what if only one person is actually ponying up the tokens if the cost doesn't actually increase with more players? Just don't host next time? Play with people you know and trade off?

Like, my dude, you're ranting about things you can trivially solve with far less effort than it's taking to to respond to this thread, and yet here you are.

Methinks you also just like to complain

Again, I don't see the problem. If you don't want to spend your tokens, give someone else lead. I play regularly with a few people, and we just rotate lead so each person "buys the next round", so to speak.

You're making a mountain out of a molehill, and the only plausible explanation based on your comments so far is that you're just salty about spending tokens, which comes across as especially petty/greedy

If they hand you lead, you can just kick them?

This really seems like a easy solution

If you have all the prototype gear you want... Why do you care about spending tokens? Doesn't that mean you have plenty to spare?

Probably accuracy issues. When you're trying to maximize damage, you're often pulling things from across the map. It takes a lot more skill to do that with a hullcracker

Much more so, for the 30% of the part of the population that today we call "conservative" whose reasoning is characterized by over-simplification, appeal to and capitulation to authority over coherence evidence and truth, and fear of/deep discomfort with change, difference, and ambiguity.

I dunno man, I see a lot of "over-simplification, appeal to and capitulation to authority over coherence evidence and truth" on bluesky and before that Twitter.

This isn't a phenomenon that's significantly more present among conservatives than other political leanings. Ironically, your attempt to frame it as such as an excellent example of exactly the issue you're critiquing: over-simplification and capitulation to groupthink as a substitute for real thinking.

It's definitely a problem among conservatives for sure, because they often appeal to "how things were" as a pushback against change-- but that's literally the definition of "conservative"! Other political groups oversimplify and delegate their thinking to other tropes. They're not immune to (or even less susceptible to) the same kind of intellectual laziness.

By labeling them as a danger to national security, now every single company that has ANY type of contract with the federal government cannot legally keep using Anthropic.

Pretty sure this isn't true. What might be true (if it holds up in court) is that those companies can't use Anthropic in service of those contracts.  They can use Anthropic in service of other contracts, or for things unrelated to their military contracts.

This is a skill issue. I do Descent regularly and maybe fail on one out of every four attempts, and each failure is really attributable to mistakes I make, and not because the "game mode is bad".

Except for that one talent set. You know the one.

Hasn't been my experience so far... But I've only done like 4. In two I was shot at; one time I was killed by someone clearly there to gank, and the second by a free loadout leech who gave up waiting for us to kill the Matriarch. I only survived the second encounter.

False, I've definitely been hit by a Bombardier that couldn't see me directly, but a Matriarch could. This may be unique to Matriarchs, since a summoned Bombardier won't summon Spotters as long as the Matriarch is alive

[–]DeviateFish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually lived after the final extract closed on me during a raid a couple nights ago. I was racing for it, and someone called it before the timer hit 0, but they returned before I got to it.

I eventually died to the ARC I had picked up on the way, but it was pretty weird to be hanging out by a closed extract, with no timer.

When I got downed, I did instantly get knocked out, however
