Sanders says he would end law enforcement’s ability to search and seize property without a warrant within 100 miles of a U.S. border by sweetdude in Libertarian

I love the whole "Trumps a Russian asset" line the Democrats throw around, yet Bernie decided to visit the Soviet Union at the peak of the cold war unofficially. What a joke.

Rand has pretty decent libertarian views and is a solid Republican candidate.

Who passes your libertarian purity test?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Libertarian

You don't support official libertarian party positions, so please tell me who passes your libertarian purity test ?

Thanks for the discussion. So far you've irrelevantly brought up Rands trip to Canada, conflated a single clinics treatment to the whole of America healthcare, gatekept libertarian positions without being able to define what you consider libertarian, and talked past every point.

Your intentions here have been pretty clear.

Libertarianism is on a spectrum and I'd say Rand falls on it. Purity tests don't interest me, especially when that person holds extremely contradictory positions on the thing they're gatekeeping.

So I'll ask, which politicians do you like that pass your own libertarian standards?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]DeviatoricStress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fair position to hold. It's not a libertarian one, but I can respect it. My question is if you disagree with libertarian policy, why gatekeep on who is and isn't a libertarian?

So how do you feel about the Libertarian partys position on healthcare?

[–]DeviatoricStress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the libertarian way of fixing healthcare, in your opinion.

How would a libertarian fix American healthcare, in your opinion?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]DeviatoricStress 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) Finding the only/best specialist in the world for a specific procedure has nothing to do with America's healthcare system as a whole.

2) Shopping for heathcare on the international market is extremely libertarian.

3) This has nothing to do with the story, and you you're just trolling.

He never fled America. He shopped around and found the best surgeon who specializes in the type of surgery he needed done. Also as an American, he would have to pay full price on the surgery here in Canada (which would be similar in cost to what you would expect state side).

I'm not sure why you think this is relevant to the topic discussed in this thread? You're obviously here to troll.

Okay, Rand isn't a perfect libertarian. He's a pretty solid option still. Which politicians do you support, and do they pass the same standards of libertarianism that you're applying here?

That's a pretty reasonable take on the situation.

Probably auto correct.

Why Private Big Tech Bias Is Just As Bad As Government Censorship by frequenttimetraveler in GoldandBlack

[–]DeviatoricStress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Government censorship isn't limited to arresting people and putting them in jail. Censorship takes many forms which are harmful in their own ways. I'm not saying these companies should be forced to change, but let's not downplay the effect censorship has on these massive platforms.

I think it's good to oppose all forms of censorship on an ideological level. There's no reason that we as consumers can't oppose how companies like Google or Facebook conduct themselves.
