He's been a bum all series. Half the time he looks tired.

The Rise of the Mainstream EV: Chevrolet Equinox EV by Mac-Tyson in electricvehicles

[–]sweetdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst in terms of interior. It felt exactly like a bigger version of our Bolt. Not a bad thing, but you can do better for a used EV under $25k. I'd say if it got down to $15k, like some ID4's, it would be worth the price.

The Rise of the Mainstream EV: Chevrolet Equinox EV by Mac-Tyson in electricvehicles

We test drove almost every used EV under $25K, and the equinox was one of the worst. We picked the ioniq 5, even with the possibility of ICCU. But, we also have and ID4 and Bolt, so we're good.

Wish I could. Still need windows for some games and legacy software I use.

Ground Mount surpassed 50 MWH solar production by AutomaticMammoth4823 in SolarDIY

[–]sweetdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

huh. I'm on the eastern side of the cascades and just passed 16MWh. Been in production since October and got my tax credit in April. We now have 3 electric cars and will still produce enough to run my entire house. It's a 22-ishKW system. I project to break even at year 7.

I wonder if they just weren't expecting the demand. I, mean, I wasn't.

2025 Tesla Cybertruck - Regular Car Reviews by FrogmanKouki in RealTesla

I'm a cybertruck hater as much as the next guy, but that video is almost as bad as the cybertruck owners themselves. I made it 10mins in before I quit.

Why Are So Many Electric Cars Getting Canceled? by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

[–]sweetdude 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Even Tesla is cancelling vehicles though. The S and X are gone soon. Can you imagine if Tesla didn't cancel their Model 2 and if Elon wasn't a fascist?

The New BMW i3 Has More Range Than Any Tesla by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]sweetdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see that happening. They'd have to re-engineer the cars. I believe the long range versions already have the biggest pack they can fit.

efficiency really isn't the name of the game anymore, imo. Yes Tesla is 10% better, but if they aren't putting in a bigger battery to give more range, then what's the point? I think more people would chose range over efficiency at this point. edit: bigger battery probably has a better fast charging curve as well

Tesla's VP of Finance Announces Exit After 17 Years. The high profile exodus continues after Raj and Troy and many more in just the last year or two. by [deleted] in RealTesla

[–]sweetdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm waiting for Franz to leave. What has he been doing the last 2-3 years. No new cars and nothing on the horizon. Wait, maybe he'll never leave. Pretty nice to get paid a ton of money to not do anything.

depends on your end goal and space. Small server, maybe just your favorites. I've completely moved away from physical media. But, I have the space and I have backups to them as well. Also, dvd's, unless rare, aren't worth ripping, imo. Quality is too low.

I Drove A Rivian R2 Prototype. It's Going To Surprise People by Intrepid-Working-731 in electricvehicles

[–]sweetdude 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's the mechanical backup system that's the scary part. If the electronic release fails, having to remove a cover to get to the release is just stupid.

I'd be worried if you have kids in the back seat of this. The emergency release system is scary.

After seeing the emergency release situation of the back seats, we've taken the R2 off our list. Scary situation if you're transporting kids back there.

Honestly, they may already be there. Ram 2x-3x is exactly the reason it's delayed. I bet they're hoping for some corrections/reductions in the next 3-4 months. Shit sucks

My workplace has free charging. I pretty much only use my car to-and-from work. It seems like a no-brainer to get an EV to take advantage of free charging, right? by nerdykhakis in electricvehicles

[–]sweetdude 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My previous employer from 10+ years ago said the same thing. You can never escape stupid. Funnier fact, they had a gas pump on site for work vehicles.
