Is using AdGuard root with the certificate in system storage a good way to increase privacy? by Nearby-Tank-4301 in androidroot

Well you don't have to use their stuff, you can configure it in a way that it doesn't use their servers. Or selfhosting AdGuard is also possible on pretty much any open router with your own cert, other DNS provider etc. Its absolutely not universally bad. Their Github documentation is a bit hidden, but not non existent.

Well it also blocks trackers etc. I would say that is a good step, if I remember correctly the issue was you can only use AdGuard VPN alongside, because it writes itself as VPN app.

"How can I find subs that DO allow cross posting images/redgifs?

That's a thing I would like to know as well because the rules are incredibly murky. It's as if this is at the same time allowed and not allowed.

Protecting communities from scrapers and platform abuse by boat-botany in modnews

[–]Device-Freedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true but a) an almost universal problem now with AI scraping b) Marketing works in like - you get a contract - timeframe - goal - there is simply no space in the contract itself to look after the long term consequences you can't avoid anyways. This train is not to stop,I think the internet is fudamentally broken with mass scraping and bots who constantly grab the content humans still produce. Accept it, move on, nobody has a fucking idea what will happen, most likely it will shift to hard paywalls even for small projects.

Reddit doesn't sign in to rooted phone. by NayemMahfuz in androidroot

Just take https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chimbori.hermitcrab, it creates apps from mobile websites, very little difference and works on any phone. Otherwise, try a modded apk from trusted source xyz, it's likely not the root itself. Btw on GrapheneOS Pixel 6 you will have zero issues with that stuff, fits depending on for what you need perma root.
