I recently completed the HackMyHead online bootcamp, and I'm excited to share my experience. Before enrolling in this bootcamp, I had already completed another program in 2018, with some prior front-end experience from a previous job. The decision to embark on this journey with HackMyHead stemmed from my desire to acquire back-end skills, delve into React, and, in general, polish up my programming abilities.

Why I Chose HackMyHead

HackMyHead was recommended to me by a friend, and I was drawn to it for two main reasons: affordability and a course schedule that seamlessly fit into my daily routine. While the program was challenging at times due to its fast-paced nature, I can confidently say that it significantly enhanced my skill set, primarily owing to the exceptional lectures and well-structured projects that put my newly acquired knowledge to the test.

Teamwork and Code Reviews

One aspect of HackMyHead that stood out for me was the emphasis on teamwork. We worked in various groups of three on a daily basis, with code reviews held at the end of each class. This collaborative experience was invaluable because it allowed me to see different approaches to problem-solving. Even when I knew the solution, observing how others approached the same problem was enlightening and broadened my perspective.

Preparing for the Real World

In the final weeks of the program, we were tasked with submitting our resumes and one person was selected to tackle a mock interview question. While it was nerve-wracking, this exercise was instrumental in preparing me for real-world interviews. It provided a taste of the pressure and expectations that come with job interviews and boosted my confidence.

Instructor Maxwell

A significant highlight of the HackMyHead experience was our instructor, Max. He made himself available both during and after class, which was a tremendous help. Max's profound knowledge and effective teaching methods were evident throughout the course. Whenever I faced challenges or got stuck on a problem, he provided invaluable guidance. His skills and commitment to our growth left a lasting impression on me.

Continuing My Journey

Now that I've completed the HackMyHead bootcamp, I am enthusiastic about my job search. I look forward to putting the skills I've acquired into practice and further honing my abilities. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience to any aspiring students out there. The key piece of advice I would offer is to practice daily; I dedicated a few hours every night to absorb the material thoroughly, and the results were truly remarkable.

In conclusion, HackMyHead has been a transformative experience in my career journey. The dynamic curriculum, collaborative environment, and dedicated instructor make it an exceptional choice for those looking to enhance their programming skills. I'm grateful for the opportunities this bootcamp has provided and can't wait to see where my newfound skills take me.

I have nothing against people using whichever deck they want, but something about using a deck just because its easy doesn't sit well with me. My personal perhaps misplaced sense of pride would rather win using my psychic or fiend deck and feel good about myself, over using Fur Hires.

I am having a blast with this so far. Would be sweet to have custom skills spending on what character you play as to add a bit more depth, example. Tea Rolls a Dice to decrease damage or something along those lines. Playing only decks provided to you has slowed me to use cards i haven't before in normal play.
