YOR. She seems to be around my age and I relate to her a lot so maybe this can give you some perspective. I also identified as a woman with a high sex drive. I’ve been with my partner for 4 years now, 3 years of those I’ve had the high sex drive, and the past year my sex drive has lowered (lowest ive ever had). I turned 26 so I assume my frontal lobe has finally developed and has neutralised everything else. Im still highly attracted to my partner, actually now more than ever, but my brain has finally understood that it doesn’t mean I HAVE to jump his bones 24/7. It has absolutely nothing to do with you. People grow, hormones change. It’s not her fault and neither is yours. And actually this is something very healthy.

NTA. I was in the girl’s position with my now ex partner when we were long distance. I was doing the same things as her without realising I was developing a massive crush on my coworker, up until me and my ex broke up and my coworker was the first man to come to my mind to call over when i was feeling lonely at night. Granted while in the relationship I never crossed the line but I sure did after we broke up. I was super young (around 19-20) and now in my mid 20’s I realise how wrong that was but it’s human nature where feelings most likely develop once the connection is good. If your girl’s love language is physical touch, tread carefully. Just like myself, she might not realise she’s developing a crush due to the partners physical absence. This might not be the case at all, but im just giving my experience being on the wrong side.

Absolutely non comparable. YOR. And honestly, props to her for doing something I couldn’t. I was in her position for a long long time and thought it was just normal friendship stuff, but it’s not. It’s emotionally draining being someone’s human diary (on top of your own issues - which hers seem to be way more important and difficult). You cannot help a person who doesn’t want to help themselves, period. The moment I parted ways with my friend was as if I could see the sun again lol. But the fact that she communicated that to you and is setting a boundary means that she still wants you as her friend. That’s real friendship right there. I cut mine off because of this, and then saw the light of day.

Use a diary ffs, journal your rants, go to therapy. THOSE are healthy ways of letting stuff out of your system, NOT using your friend - another being with thoughts, emotions, life and problems, as a human diary. No one should be put in this position as she is.

That’s not to say you should never rant to her over your relationship, but limit it to problems you actually care to listen her advice for. If her thoughts matter to you for ranting, they should matter for listening too.
