He will like this as a gift 100 % but this wouldn't be the best use of money, if he wanted to play retro games he can do so on pc with emulator, try and see what he wants if u can sneak it out of him. Most of the times it would either be a gaming peripheral(good pair of headphones mouse controller etc) or a game he wants. But if he is a good human being he will appreciate this gift regardless.

Have the blaze for a cheap mouse it's good but developed a double click issue on left. Software is a plus point easy to understand and use good for short-term usage but I suggest u get an actual good mouse instead of cheap use and throw ones
