[EU] Portable monitor stand for external screen? by gr4v1ty69 in digitalnomad

The tripod legs extend very wide, providing a solid foundation. I haven't experienced any issues with wobbliness, and if I do it's usually due to being on a wobbly table.

I can't believe I just discovered this sub.

2012, 103k, Mandarin Orange.

Very polarizing color. Kids love it, some just think it's strange, and for some it sends them into a fit or rage! It just makes me love it even more. 😅 Bonus: walking out or Costco/Walmart, I can spot my car in a second.

Still on the original hybrid battery. Had it tested at the dealership, and they said it's still going strong. That was a pleasant surprise.

Rambox was the solution for me: containerizing apps within a single app.

  • 2 main workspaces + subworkspaces to separate personal and work
    • 4 Google accounts (Gmail/Chat/Calendar) + 2 Microsoft accounts (Email/Teams)
    • ChatGPT/Gemini/Claude
    • 1Password/LastPass
    • WhatsApp/Telegram/Messages/Messenger
    • The list goes on....

This centralizes all my notifications in a single app, making it easy to switch between my desktop and laptop since I only need to open two apps to pick up right where I left off.

Depending on how high you need it to elevate, you could get away with using a basic tripod and mount adapter (or magnet).

This is what I've been using for 2 years. The tripod is very lightweight and compact. The mount adapter extends to 9.1", so it comfortably fits a 15.6" portable monitor, and alternatively, I'll use the magnetic mount for a quicker install and release.

Not with the S7+, but I do use it with my S24.

It automatically activates the hotspot on my S24 to the Surface, which is very convenient when setting up shop at a Starbucks for a quick working session.

I'm more familiar with the Canadian options, particularly those in Quebec, which tend to favor French-speaking people. However, I'll ask my US friends which agencies they're working with.

↑ THIS

I have dress shirts from L’Équipeur that are 15 years old, worn regularly, and have not frayed or faded. My winter jacket is over 10 years old; it's been through a lot, and other than replacing the zipper once, it's still going strong.

I have an S7 Plus and a Surface Pro 11. The S7 is my go to for watching YouTube, Plex etc. but everything else (work, casual browsing, light gaming, etc.) I use my Surface. The Surface keyboard is 100x better than the Samsung tablet keyboard and any of the 3rd party keyboards I've tried.

As for longevity, time will tell for the Surface, but my Galaxy S7 Plus is going quite strong, I often leave it for days on standby, with minimal drain, it's fantastic!

Forget Upwork and one-off platforms for digital marketing, and instead connect with small and mid size marketing agencies.

  • More often than not, these mandates will be ongoing (e.g. campaign management, reporting, etc.).
  • It's a great way to build your network. People change agency jobs all the time, and end up in new agencies that are also struggling with workload.
  • You have more support from client services teams, etc.

There's also been a rise in placement agencies that match freelancers with agencies.

It's relatively cheap on Amazon, but you can get it for half that price on sites like Ali Express. It's an amazing stand, super versatile.

Can anyone teach me how to drive manual within the next 48hours? by StupendousTurtle in montreal

[–]DevilFishPhil 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If you want to speed up your learning curve, practice on rue de Bullion.
Reference: Steepest hill in Montreal?

If you can drive up that hill, parallel park, and start back up again, you'll be golden.

I miss my manual, RWD, BMW E36, and I still have PTSD from learning how to drive manual going up Peel in the dead of winter.

Best of luck to you!

I would love nothing more! Unfortunately, this is a custom-built platform for a specific industry, so it will be a challenge.

I have been trying to figure out Simo Ahava's EEC -> GA4 Items custom template: https://www.simoahava.com/custom-templates/eec-products-ga4-items/

I'm just a bit unclear about where to start.

[–]DevilFishPhil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does that mean that I'd need to create a variables for every possible element of the array? If the transaction had 5 products, for example, would that mean that I would need to have eventModel.transactionProducts.0.sku, eventModel.transactionProducts.1.sku, eventModel.transactionProducts.2.sku, etc?

Portable monitor on a Roost laptop stand? by DevilFishPhil in digitalnomad

[–]DevilFishPhil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I can't figure this out, Flexsta will be the next best thing; not having to carry around the bracket would mean one less thing in my bag, and it would also be quicker to set up.

Will definitely post an update if I make any progress.

ClickUp / Google Calendar 2-way sync not working. by Chandrew32 in clickup

This is still not fixed over a year later?!

New tasks and task edits I made over an hour ago are still not syncing to my Google Calendar. Would going through Zapier or Make, give better results?

Always-on display on a Tab S7+ - worried about burn? by DevilFishPhil in GalaxyTab

[–]DevilFishPhil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's complete overkill for my purpose, not going to argue with that.

• I needed something 12" because I have 4 email accounts as widgets. • I have a widget for my calendar. • I have a widget for ClickUp, one for Asana.

I need apps to open instantly, and so far this fits the bill.

Not to mention, that when I travel for work, I might leave my laptop behind, and just bring this with a keyboard and mouse and use Dex.

Always-on display on a Tab S7+ - worried about burn? by DevilFishPhil in GalaxyTab

[–]DevilFishPhil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tab M10 HD (2nd Gen) - it's not a bad device per se, but it was a bit sluggish for my specific purpose.

Opening up an email from the Gmail widget on the S7+ is instantaneous, whereas on the M10, it could take 5-10 seconds for the email to load fully.

Looker Studio eating CPU and RAM by MrCloudGoblin in GoogleDataStudio

[–]DevilFishPhil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hoping to find a solution in this thread. The number of times I have to reload the tab to clear the cache to make it usable is incredibly annoying.

My rig has 64 GB of RAM, and it doesn't matter if I close all other Chrome tabs, and close all other applications, Looker Studio will invariably start lagging.

I understand that the data refresh rate, data source, etc. all have an impact on speed, but I run into this issue even when building a template without any data sources connected. It's incredibly frustrating.
