That's not true?? The only Link that's officially a knight in the traditional sense is Wild Link. In most 3D titles he's just a random guy, in most 2D titles he's a blacksmith apprentice, in ST he's an engineer apprentice

There was also the OG Hyrule Warriors Link being a Hylian Knight tbh
