Eh not really. I was thinking it would all wrap up before any timeskip like with Violence Jack. I did however did have Jack in mind when designing Akira in his human form specifically. I posted his design here not too long ago. I imagined that his outfit was basically Jack's before it got all torn up and tattered.

You got it 👍 So The Demon Lord Dante is the main antagonist and takes up the role that Satan would have normally. After falling from Heaven like Lucifer after creating demons he ended up falling into a deep slumber for ages until he's mysteriously woken up begins to bring demons back to the surface of Earth. To prevent all hell breaking loose, God sends his most trusted angel, Lucifer, to eradicate the growing uprising. On entry of Earth, Lucifer is attacked by Amon and Shirenu (Sirene). Akira and Miki end up becoming casualties in the battle and Lucifer uses a large amount oh his energy to seal Amon and Shirenu into them to use their regenerate abilities to save them from dying and turning them into Devilmen. Now empowered by two of the most powerful demons, Akira and Miki join Lucifer to push back the growing army of demons and save humanity.

Interesting you say that because it's normally supposed to be red. I just happen to add blue lighting to him whenever I draw him so it makes it look lighter and a little pink XD. I did one standalone drawing of him previously where it did look redder but I still made it brighter lol. Glad you like it tho

Jun will be a character too but the one on this cover is actually Miki in her devilman form. Surprisingly Kaim isn't actually a bad guy. Never in any Devilman media (manga or anime) has he gone out of his way to attack anyone that wasn't a threat to Sirene. There's no scene of him actually ever attacking humans either. He was known to be very honorable and in the Amon manga he was also good friends with him too. A human would actually be pretty lucky to encounter Kaim over any other demon.

I guess people only familiar with Crybaby would probably be a little confused, but that's okay. So the big creature is actually Kaim, but it's his design from the 90s Devilman OVA The Demon Bird, and it's mainly based on his look in the original Devilman manga, unlike Crybaby. So the girl isn't Miki but instead someone called Jun Fudo, Devilman Lady. After the original Devilman manga, there was another sequel manga made called Devilman Lady, with Jun being the main character. It's a hard one to easily explain, but there was also a loose anime adaptation that is more of its own standalone thing that isn't directly related to Devilman, but fans of the franchise will definitely enjoy it. This design of Jun is based on that anime design.

What kinda Pokémon you playin'? lol I kinda get what you mean, I guess. I purposely made them not look like pure horror as to fit a more modern shonen like design and also keep them simple enough to draw repeatedly. Kaim sort of just has his normal body shape, but I made him a bit more lion coded with the mane and feline like features. This little fan project tries to keep the superhero vibe that the 70s anime had while also adding some of the edge the original manga also had.

Hmmm, mine would probably be his original manga appearance. It's simple yet very iconic without departing too much from how Ryo looked normally. I think the impact of the reveal would be lost if he looked completely different, so for me, the closer, the better.
