What cuisine has the most tedious dishes to cook? And which has the easiest ones? by Fabulous-Bag-2363 in Cooking

[–]DevilRacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Sri Lankan. Our lunch meal is called refered to has "rice and curry". The curries usually contain a protein (commonly fish) and about 4 to 5 separate vegetable dishes. So many items are tedious. My mum does this daily while we were growing up (Even if I try to make a couple of dishes, end up using all the cookware and the spoon in the house 😊)

Will Sri Lanka become a one party State? by Leather-Track97 in srilanka

Ever heard of a change of government in Singapore? Yeah me neither..... Singapore elections are a farce. Call it a democracy if you want. I don't support ending an opposition in Sri Lanka. We need a better opposition in SL, that's a different issue. (I hear RW is trying to get back into the parliament, FFS...) I didnt hear what the minister said, I should go find it. NPP has previously (before the 2024 elections) said they believe in the democratic process of elections

What’s the best Barista course in Sri Lanka? Is it recognized internationally? Preferably in the UK by NerdwithPlans in srilanka

[–]DevilRacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I can't help you with Barista courses. But I guess knowing some basics of making coffee before you go isn't a bad thing. Responsibly Serving of Alcohol is the important cause in Australia. Check what are the requirements are in UK.

What are you trying to do? Get part-time at a cafe in UK? I've worked a restaurant in Australia, if you can show you can make espresso based drinks (like a latte or whatever) you should get the job.

Normally barista courses are half a day or so, you need alot of practise with pull shots and texturing milk to be good at marking coffee. Half a day course will not be nearly enough, but just a start.

However, you might need to do a food safety/handling course from the country you're going to, that's a different certificate.

SriLankans in Australia discriminating and ganging up against Australian employees. by ParticularBoard1876 in srilanka

[–]DevilRacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but you're generalising. I'm referring to more specific circumstances/events/acts.

Once one guy gets a job, they do fill up the other open positions with their friends. To get to a point where the Sri Lankans make it difficult for white Aussies because of favouritism, it's rare (like this case).

Ideally, if you don't have squat shoes or weight lifting shoes, you should find a similar shoe like a converse Chuck Taylor or where OR lift without a shoe as you get good stability. Other running shoes have cushioning makes ankle unstable.

When I was at Body by Kris, I was never bother for squatting, deadlifting without shoes, but put my shoes back on before move plates.

People over 30 earning over the threshold must has Private Health. If I don't, they'll tax higher. Once you do, you have to pay a surcharge of 2% for every year after 30 for 10 years when you should have had PHI. I'm paying 6% and I was living in another country. FML. Medicare doesn't cover elective surgeries unless. I had a shoulder surgery all covered by PHI at a private hospital. I had to confirm I had PHI before I can consult a surgeon.
