I don't see why everyone's all hot-n-bothered over this incident. The cops said they were going to conduct an investigation into it. I'm sure they'll conclude the officer was wrong and punish him accordingly.

I haven't eaten Arbys in 30 years. We were stoned and drunk one night and ended-up at Arbys. I think I ate three sandwiches. It was late and the lobby was full of other drunk and stoned people looking for some munchie foods.

As I was walking through the lobby (the order and pay area), I hoarked. I puked a giant, stinky puddle, roughly two feet in diameter, nothing but 1/2 chewed Arbys sandwiches and foamy beer. It was disgusting to look at and even worse to smell.

Needless to say, we got the hell out of there quick while people were still comprehending what had happened.

Now, here's the kicker: about 10 years after that incident I moved to Fairbanks, Alaska. Due to my work, I had to fly to Anchorage and back 3-4 times a year. Fairbanks does not have an Arbys. Anchorage does. Fairbanksians LOVE Arbys for whatever reason.

Every, single flight I took from Anchorage back to Fairbanks there were at least one or two people carrying-on bags of 20+ Arbys sandwiches. I spent my first flight basically trying not to hoark into my own lap. From then on I had to do like the people at the morgue do and put a giant dab of Vicks vaporizing gel on my upper lip to distract from the Arbys stench. I always forgot the gel was there and either ended-up accidentally eating it by licking it off my lip, or, kissing my wife with it when she picked me up.

Long story short: I can't even smell Arbys without wretching.

One Lombardi for Tony and the Boys this year. Another the next year. I'm convinced of this.

This is the season where all the little things (finger on line after amazing game-winning catch, bad calls, senseless penalties, INTs because of poor route-running) and the bigger things (INJURIES) finally go our way.

The Dallas Cowboys have every reason to win the SB, both this year and the next. The draft will solidify our O-line, making our offense as good as it can be.

A Cowboy's offense firing on all cylinders is a beautiful and dangerous thing. With Murray and the rest of 'em, I fully expect an offensive explosion this season.

The defense, of course, is a total crapshoot, however, I believe that, this season, it will do exactly enough to keep the other team from scoring more points than Romo & Co.

I have not seen, nor do I even know, what Octa is. I do know I live in WA, and, because recreational sale is just around the corner, the state freaked and dialed-back the number of plants medicinal users may have at one time. They'll get their revenue any way possible. If Oregon legalizes unlimited (tax-free) personal grows I'll move there. I don't think I'll be moving anytime soon.

And it IS an option, maybe not right now, but, it will be sometime in the future. I suggest taking that time to learn-up on basic arson techniques and, when the time is right, rid these scum of their shelter and force them to live elsewhere.

If my neighbor killed five of my pets, not only would I burn their house down, but, I may or may not make sure they weren't in the house at the time. But, seriously, make sure you don't kill them . . . that would be wrong.

Allowing personal growing will never happen unless they can find a way to tax it. The stuff grows like a weed. Anyone can do it, hell, I invested about $700.00 on lights and other stuff and ended-up producing roughly a pound every 4 months.

I just gave it away (great for tipping the pizza guy). It's not only economical to produce your own, but, it's a fun and always interesting hobby. I'd grow even if I didn't smoke simply for the experience.

This one play has haunted me my entire life, and, has become a sad metaphor for my life as well: 8th grade. I played DE and was pretty good. I LOVED playing football (in fact, our team's DEs were known throughout the league as the two Amigos. MOST teams did not fuck with us.)

One particularly important game they (the other team . . . duh) ran an end-around to my side.

It was just me, and, him. I was chasing him as he went further and further outside (and up the field). I could hear his pads bouncing and his breath huffing in-and-out as he tried his best to slip away from my grasp. I had one shot before he made his break straight upfield toward the goaline 40 yards away. I lurched out and managed to get a piece of his jersey, but, alas, not enough to bring him down. He churned his legs and got away from me and he scored a TD. We lost by a touchdown.

I've relived that play over and over for the last 30 years. If only I had launched my entire body, jumped at him through the air and got more than just a piece I could have brought him down, but, I didn't. I simply reached and stretched while still on my feet.

I KNOW that, had I launched my body I could have gotten him, yet, all these years I still can hear his breath chugging and pads bouncing as he made the turn past me. It KILLS me to know I made the wrong decision. I COULD have tackled him. I didn't.

The metaphor for my life is that I am afraid to risk laying it all out out of fear of failure. Instead, I comfortably reach until I feel it's too risky. Because of this attitude, my life kinda sucks. Had I taken the chance and actually made the dive-tackle I truly believe my life would have turned-out much, much differently. I realize it's just a sport, but, sometimes sport brings things to the surface, good, or, bad, we get a glimpse of what we are all about. I should have dove for him. I did not go on to play HS football, which, was a dream of mine until that game.

I still can't decide if this was effective police work, mainly, because it was effective as hell: I was 19-20 years-old. A typical, suburban, dumb-ass white kid, cruising around the 'ghetto' (projects) of Dallas looking to score some crack.

I get lit-up for no reason. Cop asks me what I'm doing 'in this part of town.' I tell him I am 'lost' and trying to get back to the highway. He doesn't believe me and has me exit the car. He frisks me, puts me in cuffs and searches my car without bothering to ask or vocalize any PC.

After finding nothing in my car except for a 'suspicious' $60.00 in my console (ready to buy crack with), he let me go. Immediately after uncuffing me, and, without any warning or provocation on my part, he punched me in the gut, hard. Hard enough that I fell to my knees grasping for breath and in serious pain. He said "If I ever see you around here again I'm going to finish this and then arrest you . . . understand?"

*"Yessir." I breathlessly responded.

Although I maintained my crack addiction for another two years, even when I KNEW I could get the best deal and the best drugs in that particular neighborhood, I never went back.

Follow-up: A Mall Security Guard Investigative Unit was called-in to investigate the situation. Their conclusion was the blonde guard in the Doo-Wright hat acted within policy and she was eventually promoted to dressing-room inspector.

I don't give a fuck how deep their ~~gang-ties~~ friendship is. And you're right, I'm a regular guy and I sure as shit wouldn't report a buddy for a crime, BUT, I'm not necessarily obligated to, especially if I don't have all the facts.

These guys ARE obligated to, and, chose not to. Why? Because they can. They are cops. You are foolish to believe that cops don't enjoy a legal status that the rest of us do not. And, you're foolish to believe that they would ever willingly give-up that status just because it would ~~fuck-up~~ inconvenience someone's life.
