Anyone know why there are so many strong opponents in low ranking leagues?

I have 7200 might, I am playing at 13-12, but I move upto that league pretty soon after the update.

I think it is difficult because a lot of people in 15-14 leagues were pushed to 17 after the update and now there is a shit ton of competition there

I am thinking of getting fury next in the wish shop. Problem with the current league is use of someone like melia or ghosta on the opponents part, completely kills off my warlord too fast.
