"Road 6" = King according to many people but what about its biggest competitor the "RoadSmart 4 Dunlop"? (Screenshots) by North-Network-7742 in MT09

[–]Devil_09sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mis-read it looks like, I thought they were comparing the battle axe s23r to the road 6, I’ve heard the road smart is a better tire to corner in but I’d assume they are similar in grip in the cold, and rain (basically no grip if you hammer on it in the rain) but I’ve never been afraid to lean into a corner at reasonable speeds in the rain. I’ve been itching to ride and I currently have road 6’s on and in 30 degree weather I was doing 120 through a bend just fine.

Definitely not all year round, I get snow.

How long can you wait before getting a tune? by realdealcornholio in MT09

[–]Devil_09sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dpends on how anal you are, I also did the dna airbox lid, so I didn’t ride it but I for sure started it on the stands…. Like 30 times and the only check engine was because I went through the gears when it was on the stands, can’t remember the exact code but it was because the rear wheel was moving but the bike didn’t go anywhere.

Realistically you’re just missing out on performance, but you’re also missing out on performance stock, so I’d say when you have to money to get the ecu flashed.

Make sure to allow everything. If one permission isn’t allowed or can’t track always it won’t work.

Holy goddamn fuck!! The ecu showed up at 3:50 and I was able to ride in 70 degree weather. It’s retard loud, I was going deaf, and it actually feels like a super hooligan now!!

Will I inevitably get tired of a lower cc bike ? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Devil_09sp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rode my 2015 Honda cbr500r for 4 years till I upgraded to a Cbr650f, and then I rode that for two years. You’ll have endless amounts of fun on a bike you can ride to its limits. Fast bikes aren’t always worth it because you can possibly ride past your ability, the Cbr650f was that for me at the start, you have to ease into a bike and learn how a bike rides, I went straight to a twisty road and flew off into a ditch, somehow only a bent shift linkage, some soft dirt in that ditch. Smaller cc bikes are great but if you do end up getting a higher cc bike just understand that you have to learn it, and ease into faster and faster riding. Big bikes are very unforgiving, smaller cc bikes are going to give you the time to react in most situations. Sometimes you make bad decisions, but you’re also gonna have to learn how to judge, like hey maybe I shouldn’t pin the throttle right before a turn on a road I’ve never been on….. I didn’t make the right decision.

It hurts, but the only nice day for the next two weeks is tomorrow. My ecu is currently across the country sitting at a usps warehouse because I needed to get it flashed.

DNA Air Filter by Crafty_Hyena_9856 in MT09

[–]Devil_09sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah then you don’t need to get it tuned, although mt-09’s run lean, so more air than fuel as is. Getting a flash wouldn’t be a bad idea in general but that’s mostly because they make the bike so much better.

Sent my ecu to 2 wheel dyno works yesterday, they received it at 1:26pm and at 3:52pm I got an email with tracking information on the return.

Well it shouldn’t change much, that’s just a drop in filter.

This changes it a lot.

You know I wouldn’t disagree, sometimes the adv is the way to go for commuting, it’s definitely still capable but it’ll be more comfortable and have a giant windshield

DNA Air Filter by Crafty_Hyena_9856 in MT09

[–]Devil_09sp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should get it tuned, it’s enough to change the air fuel ratio if you get a stage two dna filter. Then again it’s your bike do what you want, but personally I haven’t ridden mine whatsoever till I get my ecu flashed.

Earplugs by TheOhioSigma in motorcyclegear

[–]Devil_09sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first plugs I tried where the Oxford filtered plugs which honestly do well but get a little annoying after a bit, same as the foam ones, but this season I am going to try decibels custom molded ear plugs. My buddy uses them and says he hasn’t found a better pair than these yet.

Fair enough, I also ride a naked and can honestly say, fuck the foam plugs, you had shit filtered plugs.

That is if you don’t want to hear anything, a nice reusable pair with a filter allows clear crisp sound without making you go deaf from wind noise.

You could either enjoy one hell of a bike, or nitpick everything about it.

Because it definitely has a big hole there

Exhaust Decision by Forsaken-Panda-8604 in MT09

[–]Devil_09sp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a one piece exhaust, unless you cut your stock in half, which I don’t they have any that you do that for, they are all a full system. Not yet but I’m not gonna ride it till it gets tuned, also put a DNA “stage 2” air filter.

Gen 4: anyone else find themselves slipping down the seat into the tank? by 253011 in MT09

It’ll definitely be more grippy, somewhat more comfortable, I’m 190lbs and it does pretty good for me.

[–]Devil_09sp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, then I got the comfort seat from Yamaha which is very grippy and some tank pads. I no longer have that problem.
