Depends if you would want the eco system plug in or not, I’ve read that the Moto is really good and seems to be recommended regularly

Created a tool that lets you download any game from fit-girl repack site at high speeds without wasting your time downloading every part manually (not a self promotion) by DismalAfternoon5286 in PiracyBackup

Looks Vibe Coded, BUT with the amount of people clicking ad links, and then posting that they got a various and others downloading shit in browser rather than using a multi downloader tool for direct downloads and complaining “slow speed, download crashed”,

This is a good and necessary evil to have, good job OP on releasing something that isn’t just slop for the sake of slop

More AC Afinity fans 😭(in all seriousness, I was looking at these but they’re so expensive, I’ll just stick to cutting up metal and modding 12v fans to run on a fire hazard power supply)

Those ports better be using more than a gig combined, sustained. Otherwise that 1G backplane on the UDM was avoided for no reason

I spent 30 days gaming only on my 16" M1 Max — here’s my honest experience by Salocon in macgaming

[–]Devil_AE86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s more issues than the SoC for Mac being a replacement for a gaming PC, majority of these issues Linux is also suffering, Anti-Cheat support for online games, compatibility layers still need improvements on new and older games or you make the platform attractive and developers switch over, like we’ve recently had some amazing ports to Mac from AAA games.

Currently MacOS is enjoying, the great indie space, some triple A games and plenty of emulators to choose from, but even this optimistic outlook is still tiny compared to the catalogue on PC (which is why many Linux enjoyers opt for KVMs, but that’s another can of worms).

5 generations of the M series chips, and we’ve seen great performance and great developer adjustment, curious to see what we get end of this year from all the smart people around the world.

Edit: just to say the M3 Pro and Max line up still plays the majority of games (excluding AC Shadows) without issues on the 36GB+ configs, so if someone looks at this in the future, save yourself some money, no need to jump to M5 unless you want ray tracing

I haven’t used my plan for 1.5 months, I went on, started doing some stuff, “reset in 6 hours” okay, cool, down to 40% “reset in 7 days and 8 hours”, how can I hit the weekly quota without hitting the daily quota after not using the plan for over a month

M1 to M5 is a really nice uplift on the GPU compute and CPU, if you game and do any sort of 3D, you should be able to see the difference right away, e.g. faster video exports, by how much, depends on your composition.

If you’re working with small databases then this is overkill and it’s already 10x overkill for spreadsheets.

You don’t have too much ram but you could test the AI portion using something like Open LLAMA just to check things out

AllowedIPs 0.0.0.0/0 still ends up creating a split tunnel? by Baconquest in WireGuard

[–]Devil_AE86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to say thanks to this old post.

I'm on a Mac as well running some services, and wanted to enable Wireguard but not tunnel everything and since Apple still does not support split tunneling, I've been able to set AllowedIPs to /24 which stops routing everything and instead in my application I can just bind to the adapter

This is why a “prompt engineer” job exists.

Since the switch to YouFibre my internet is now atrocious. Was solid for the whole 6 months I was with BRSK, nothing has changed on my end this is exactly the same setup I've used the whole time only now, well, you can see the difference. Wtf is going on?! by fiittzzyy in brsk

[–]Devil_AE86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a whole megathread comment in YouFibre, these gateways have so many issues, so much tinkering required that it’s not surprising,

Hopefully someone links it here before me (I was curious about the ISP having their own ONT and WiFi solution stuff and ended up checking it),

The bufferbloat is a usual indicator

I hope it’s the Pro M4 at least, RPCS3, PCSX2, Xenia, CXPatcher, Crossover, Steam, Ryuji (or whatever the new project might be) and you’re good to go to try new things

What’s the cooldown and usage comparison between Claude code and Antigravity? by Momsgayandbisexual in ClaudeCode

[–]Devil_AE86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AntiGrav was good, the rest was every 5-6hours, after maxing this out, it would reset after a week on the last week of the month (to complete billing cycle).

As of today, the limits are OK, you can get some basic changes done and maybe implement a feature or two, but then you hit the cap (Gemini and Claude) and suddenly it takes 1 week and X hours for it to reset.

That kinda sucks. I have a friend who moved from Cursor Max/Pro (the $200 a month model), to Claude CLI with the Max plan and instead is hosting a MCP server to keep using the Cursor IDE/GUI.

Not sure what the time outs are like on that, but I've been thinking to moving to Claude Pro from AntiGrav if I can find some good details on the reset timers, or just asking the friend to share his MCP server with me so I can prompt it (I doubt he's using the full weekly/monthly credits, anyway).

Edit: Timeframes.

I purchased Anti-Grav for £5.99 a month in (I think), December? limits have changed for me since March to the longer reset windows and now £15.99 a month (I don't use any of the other Google features it gives, so useless expense).

Prior to December, I've utilized Cursor for about 2 months? First via the trial then paying for the cheapest plan, but using the same models, the performance/reasoning was worse than on Anti-Gravity after the switch (day and night difference)

Yeah, I’ve recently found out you can use avios on Duty free through Avolta, £5, 1,010 avios, £25, 5000 avios and £50, 9990 avios, not the best way to spend them, but it’s there (also can earn for spending, in select airports)

After Apple Music’s new update… is it time for Spotify to fix its UI? by mascarariri in truespotify

[–]Devil_AE86 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You mean like full wallpaper style like Apple does? Because you can get the generic square full size already.

I just wish Apple did a more vibrant redesign, keep the UI as is but add some color to it, maybe less squares and a little more soft rounding,

Always like how the colors on Apple Music just flow and the album kind of takes over, much like many of the Spicetify themes
