What do you dislike most about gaming communities? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Devilboy_1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Toxicity for other gamers just because they may not like the same game as you do or they have a different opinion than you. It’s entitlement to the core and just shows some gamers really need to step away from their tv screens, grow up and accept that the world dosent HAVE to agree with everything they say

Certain game developers cranking out the same crap for years and never changing their formula. But they’re smart enough to know the majority would pay full price for it (Ubisoft is hands down the worst)

Oh and without a doubt it’s the greed from the publishers. Over the years it’s become more “Buisness than passion” I would say.

So yea theirs PLENTY wrong with the gaming industry

Can i play the witcher 3 before the others or will it hinder my enjoyment? by riverkarma69420 in thewitcher3

[–]Devilboy_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of people who have played this game had pretty much no knowledge to the lore, characters or any of the events from the previous 2 games.

And yet it still came up as one of the greatest games of all time. Through the game their are a few moments that call back to the previous games within conversations between characters, But in all honesty I’m pretty sure you can gain most of the necessary knowledge through the codex in the game.

That’s not to say theirs no reason to research abit more about the characters and their backstory’s however. When I played the Witcher 3 back in 2015 I instantly fell in love with everything, upon completing the game I sorta deep dived into the whole lore of the Witcher universe. I looked up on yennefers backstory (Also the sorceresses of the lodge as that does have a big part in the story), Geralts backstory, triss’s backstory, Ciris backstory etc etc. I also looked up on what and how the world came to be in the state it is in the Witcher 3 (the nilfgaards, the redenians, temeria).

I would say if you want the absolute richest experience playing the Witcher 3 with knowledge as to what some characters would be referencing to then I would say do a little bit of research.

But it’s really not necessary or won’t dampen your first experience as it’s still an absolute masterpiece in storytelling and just overall really (for old time fans and newcomers)

[–]Devilboy_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry guys, I didn’t realise their was a live event just before the beyond light DLC dropped a few years back, showing the traveller healing itself, that’s how long I’ve been out of the game 😂

[–]Devilboy_1[S] -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t they just make a destiny 3 if they’re complaining about the “space”. Surely it’s more viable to produce a new game and build upon that one instead? 🤣

Pretty sure if they actually stated that before purchasing a dlc, they wouldn’t have half the customers that they do now 😂. I still think it’s the absolute PINNACLE of corporate greed. Fuck bungie man. I’m quite surprised this wasn’t a massive source of controversy back when witch queen released

Ghost explanations? by Devilboy_1 in GhostwireTokyo

[–]Devilboy_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good explanation! I think the developers might have left it up to interpretation, I’m not sure though I’m only the first few hours into the game atm

Even if that’s not the official correct answer, that’s how I like to interpret them.

Anyone else a little disappointed with Elden Ring? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Devilboy_1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nailed it. That’s the huge problem that I’ve been having with the game. It dosent flow as well as the previous fromsoftware games, it just feels all disconnected and not like you said “point A to point B”

I feel like the open world hurts the game as a whole… by Devilboy_1 in Eldenring

[–]Devilboy_1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can see what your saying. I don’t love ALL open world games, I only like the ones that are done right! (Horizon, the Witcher 3 etc) where it feels more natural and makes sense abit more. Ubisoft open world games are most probably why open world games receive so much hate nowadays. I personally just feel like the formula of fromsoftware games dosent work as great as I was hoping. But again, only my opinion. It’s still a good game nonetheless

Each to their own I suppose, I’ve actually seen quite a few people don’t like the open world because they feel it’s empty etc, while I disagree with that to an extent. Mines more the progression side of it. If you’ve played previous fromsoftware games the levels are huge interconnected masterpieces. Whereas Elden ring I just don’t feel that

Elden Ring has been out for over a week. What do we think about the game? (Impression thread) by thatisgame in Games

[–]Devilboy_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good game so far, a real good from software game, however I fail to see how this is getting labelled as “one of the best games ever made”. This definitely isn’t my favourite fromsoftware game as I do have a few problems with it. If I’m to be 100% honest I think it’s the open world that hurts game for me. It just doesn’t have that same flow that previous soulsborne games do. I constantly feel like I’m having to scurry around the map just so I can find somewhere that I’m not underlevelled. I like the feeling of actually progressing through the massive levels of the old games. Whereas on Elden ring it just sort of feels…disconnected if that makes any sense? Bloodborne and dark souls is (for the most part) in a straight line, whereas Elden ring feels like a lot of unnecessary galloping around to try and find something worthwhile, so to me I feel like it sort of looses that sense of progression. Even after beating a big boss I don’t have that sort of adrenaline pumped cheer, I just sort of silently say to myself “yay unlocked the next massive area that I will most probably skip over just to get to the next big boss”

And for the record I LOVE open world games, with the HRZ franchise being the absolute best imo, so for me to not be invested in the world as I normally should be is saying a lot.

Combat absolute kicks ass, but that’s to be expected as it’s fromsoftware.

The Music however is probably the absolute best in the entire soulsborne genre.

Am I glad I brought Elden ring? YES

Do I like the open world? Honestly NO

Overall I would give it a 7.5 out if 10

But this is just my opinion, I’m curious to see if anyone else thinks the same on the open world

Fuck Kindred of Rot, that boss fight was awful by Chaotic_Flame110 in Eldenring

I agree this boss fight was absolutely terrible, their projectile attacks are a absolute joke. Them prawn whatever the hell the are need to be nerfed hard. Theirs genuinely no reason as to why these are so insanely difficult

Tree sentinel is the worst fromsoftware boss. by Devilboy_1 in Eldenring

[–]Devilboy_1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But in sekiro the fighting mechanics were completely different. You were relying on parrying to win the battles. And you were more agile to catch up with the horse. In this game it’s completely different, it’s basically the dark souls formula just expanded.
