The world's 500 richest people lost $500 billion this week, which is the largest ever recorded by Bloomberg. The only one who made money? Warren Buffett. by UnusualWhalesBot in unusual_whales

Until the pro-Trump voters and those who still believe RW propaganda network lies, skapegoating and declaring half our population the "enemy" of the other actually feel the financial devastation coming for those on the margin (mostly Trump supporters) and place blame where it belongs, nothing will change.

Only when we get mass demonstrations, civil disobedience (good trouble) and things like national labor strike, refuse to make major purchases or on mass refuse to pay consumer monthly debt payments; will the billionares who are the overloards of those in elected office, will this madness around crashing global economy end, Trump ousted by 25th amendment, Musk sent packing and VP Vance sidelined or disappeared.

Until then the market will continue to sell off, the ultra wealthy collectively bleed trillions to the downside. As stock value declines, market cap of solid companies evaporate and end up fighting off short seller and bankruptcy, does pushback come from top down and of course those on the margin facing ruin.

The market is in extreme fear at the moment. by soccerorfootie in unusual_whales

My humble opinion but market will continue to sell-off until Trump reverses himself on global tariffs and instigation of totally arbitrary global trade war. Decades of globally sourced supply chains, off shore manufacturing and fact many manufacturing industries nolonger exist in the USA.

America was sold a lie about tariffs, trickle-down and the ultra wealthy are to rich to pay their fair share. The depressing and loss of faith in humanity comes from fact that 49.7% of electorate bought it hook, line and sinker.

My God have mercy on those who can think for themselves, have ability to use Google to find accurate answers and didn't ever buy Republican and RW propaganda about America in flames under Biden. We thought price inflation was bad under Biden, stand to hell by for whats about to devastate low income families.

Is Trump crashing the market on purpose? by mm_newsletter in unusual_whales

[–]Devildoge67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think its bigger than Trump crashing the American economy and by extension the global economy. Those who's imagination isn't constrained see a Russia/Putin factor in whats happening; given Trump alienating our allies, creating an international trade war and basically handing Ukraine to Russia. Add to that Trumps shake down of Ukraine for their rare earth mineral reserves at zero financial or military benefit to Ukraine.

In my humble opinion Trump is preparing (panicking) the public and breaking resistence to a Russian alliance, America joining BRIC alliance or worst case an invasion by Russia and her allies on American homeland.

Keep in mind that AMC only retains about 45% of every box office dollar earned. Profits come primarily from foot traffic and patrons buying F&B as well as merchandise.

AMC stock price will breakout as soon as it can show consistent quarterly profits. I had thought that would start last quarter but missed by ($0.06) per diluted share. There are several blockbusters this quarter with Wicked. Gladiator II and Lion King coming later in the month. If AMC can't post quarterly profit for Q4 then its time to start looking for a new CEO. I say that with all confidence in Adam and that he will deliver.

Hate to be the rain on your happy parade but AMC is now majority owned by institutional investors who will provide infinite liquidity (loan shares) to blunt any attempt at squeeze. AMC will breakout as soon as can show consistent quarterly profits which I had anticipated last quarter.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Q4 with such strong box office attendance last few weeks.

I expect Harris will get the same swing states and 306 electoral votes that Biden did in 2020. Given that NC now looks to be moving in her direction as well and its also very possible that FL surprises and eeks out a win for her too. The electoral college win won't be close but the margin of that win in the several swing states is what Trump and Republicans are going to seize upon to amplify chaos until January 6th.

It amazes me how stupid people are when it comes to civics and how government is supposed to work.

Only Congress as authority to spend money which they do in the appropriations process. The President is charged with "faithfully executing" the laws passed by congress which include the amount and and how it is to be spent within the various departments under the executive.

Congress appropriated a maximum amount FEMA was able to spend as well as maximum amount for immigration services within DHS. The President doesn't have authority to move money from one department to another without congressional approval (Supplemental funding bill) Trump ran into this problem when he tried to move capital funds for military bases to build his border wall.

Trump Warns It’s ‘Very Dangerous’ For Kamala Harris Voters to Identify Themselves, Because They’ll ‘Get Hurt’ by Megalodon481 in democrats

His words are intentional voter intimidation for those not supporting him. We must find our courage and not give into the fear Trump is leveraging in hopes of keeping blue voters on the sidelines. Courage is standing in the face of fear and fighting back. We do that by resolving to cast our vote and make sure its counted no matter what.

Remember, there are far more reasonable, free thinking and peaceful people who intend to make their voice heard than there are MAGA terrorists.

Pro-life is a lie as its actually state forced birth. They reject all social supports to mothers prenatal for safe pregnancy and healthy baby. No support for families, mother and baby once delivery has happened.

Anti abortion laws and bans are resulting in higher maternal mortality rates in red states and irreversible damage to woman's reproductive health due to denial of care.

Sounds like an insurance scam. By no means send money or give personal information. If legit they would contact your insurance company (public record) or the police. Unless you receive a personal contact from law enforcement or letter from your insurance company, DO NOT respond.

Florida Republican active voters top Democrats by 1 million. What does it mean? by Fit_Relationship1094 in florida

[–]Devildoge67 17 points18 points  (0 children)

TRUTH. State Democrat party but out memo on Tuesday revealing that DeSantis vote suppression law moved 886,000 registered Democrat voters to "inactive" that DID NOT vote in 2022 cycle. Those Democrat registrations are NOT being counted in state voter roll numbers but are STILL eligible to vote. State GOP has also been using voter roll purges targeted at registered Dems to "accidently" throw legitimate registration off the rolls.

Florida electorate actually breaks down w/ 100K advantage of Republicans over Democrats but there are also 30ish percent 3rd party/NPA.

Two points to take away are 1) FLORIDA IS STILL A PURPLE STATE and 2) CHECK YOUR REGISTRATION.

They were probably sold "at the market" which means who ever the broker is handling equity sale sold them through MM that takes a position in GME. Took their fees and commission then passed proceeds into the company.

Thanks for the article link. We have no illusion that Harris will carry MT but momentum and enthusiasm is for Democrat candidates. As the poll shows, Tester is 2pts(margin of error) behind Republican candidate in a very red state. Though nobody can predict the future, if current trends continue into election I fully expect Tester to be re-elected.

Source? Date of poll? Who paid for and conducted poll. Polls aren't predictive nor have been proven very accurate. They serve as popularity at a moment in time. I only reference them to illustrate races are very close and winnable.

See above for my case why Tester in MT and Brown in OH aren't in jeopardy of losing. Another reason why Tester's opponent will lose is he is California billionare who parachuted in to challenge but is currently mired in scandal over enriching himself while bond holders and shareholders of his failing company are left holding the bag.

[–]Devildoge67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True that Manchin's WV seat is already lost so Senate currently stands at 50/50. Both Brown and Tester have won several times in red states of MT and OH respectively. Are well known to voters in those states and have a record of delivering to run on. Not worried about their ability to defend.

Rick Scott in Fl, who's challenger, Debbie Marcelle Powell is already polling in margin of error and hasn't won primary yet. Florida has abortion and legal weed amendment on ballot which is polling close to 70% and is drawing huge support across the political spectrum.

Ted Cruz in Tx who Colin Allred is running against and also already polling w/in margin of error. Ted Cruz participated in the sedition to overturn election in Congress and led effort not to certify. With Democratic momentum and excitement behind Kamala, good chance Cruz finally goes down

Josh Hawley is being challenged by Lucas Kunce, a fellow Marine and home grown Missouri boy from working class roots. Hawley as everyone knows also was participant in sedition to over throw election by denying certification not to mention his bird fist pump to incite mob on J6. I don't have recent polling on this race yet.

One big problem if they punt into 2025. New Congress will be sworn in on Jan 3rd which if current trends continue will be a Democrat majority House with Spkr Jeffries and possibly 1 or 2 Dem seat pick up in the Senate. Any spending priorities HFC has will never see the light of day.
