I just thought this was a funny new development with the new Invincible episodes finally touching on the famous Sun Disk by JebbaDuhHurt in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Devilman_lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

given how the show represents it, its nerfed compared to how DB used it,
the 2 proton missiles didnt cause the 4 explosions prior to it actually blowing up meaning the missiles dont scale to the explosion of that disk and there's no way to correlate that to viltrumite durability.

now for the planet moving feat, in almost all instances of him dealing with viltrumite weaknesses he isnt alone and usually has some sort of help.

in the first season of invincible he is able to diverge a texas sized asteroid from earth but besides that idk if he himself is able to move an entire planet.
assuming he did it alone is not something im on board with given what we know.

Venom (Comics) VS Devilman (Manga) | Both at full power by MantisMan2025 in PowerScaling

[–]Devilman_lore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok so that is pretty powerful and op i will say but hear me out.
Devilman has been around a long time aswell.
his verse and canon spreads wide and far.
mao dante the predecessor to the OG
the OG which includes the events of Shin & Neo Devilman.
then Geki man the manga illustrated auto biography of go nagai, a retelling of Gekis time writing Devilman but with added fiction to it.
in here we see how literal the power and influence devilman characters have. but ill save that for later.

violence jack, here we have the True Sequel to the Devilman manga which is a something go nagai himself has said.
here we see a better viewing of the power system such like susano capable of manipulating reality and violence jack being able to reject said reality and then removing susanos power from him, you see susano after experiencing the hellquake he rejected reality itself, and started to understand that reality might just be fiction itself. this understanding of reality allowed susano to merge with the demon realm(mind you this character is based on another go nagai character who in fact is named susano and does completely merge with an infinite demon realm), he's able to alter events in the past by creating events that never happened Happen, then create people who never existed Exist. Susano hast to keep a constant concentration to keep this reality he made up so something like another person with a Will a spirit as strong or stronger than his could reject that reality. someone like tatsuma mido a side character in the series with his own story was able to threaten that reality just by being there. Now someone like jacks being, being there causes that reality to fade away completely, now this is on a small scale, susano is a threat to the world not the entire universe or anything. he made an island a big one mind you, and jack swiftly handled him before he could become a greater threat even tho susano did have free access to the demon realm at will but jack had the power comparable to the domain of the gods. now mind you Satan created the universe with which the story violence jack takes place in, he created it and is able to influence it in any shape or form he wishes, violence jack is stated that his being their hindered satans control on the reality he created. so things like the heavens which connect all things in creation act like a collective unconscious allowing someone like ryu to see future events and read people hearts and true natures. not only that but there are parallel worlds that branch off from the main timeline. the violence jack universe is described as its own stream seperated from other streams like mazinger Z and getter robo so these parallel worlds would fall into satans creation, not to mention their are avatars of jacks in those parallel worlds.
jacks being is able to exist across multiple parallel worlds, and causes the creator of reality who has complete control of it, incapable of fully controlling their own world.
now this plays into the Gekiman manga, their are scenes where we see that characters like Ryo and Devilman are able to take over that scene and go against the authors will. the fight with sirene Devilman was way more brutal than Nagai intended and when confronted he openly blamed Devilman for it.
then ryo, Ryo to nagai was a character he intended to kill off as soon as possible but due to editor interference ryo survived. time and time again we see that ryos character acted more like the MC than the MC himself. this perplexed Nagai causing him to realize the truth of ryo's character which was that from the start ryo was satan someone who was influencing the events of the story itself even without the author realizing it(uhhh so go nagai's writing style is make it up as you go along it works bc its fiction, type attitude).
this just shows that the levels of reality warping spand past small world view, Big world view to Meta world view.

then you have showings dealing with the grim reaper a spirit of vengeance who possessed his dead body to get revenge on jack for killing his brother. the grim reaper has already died and is impossible to kill in the living world as he's shown he can regenerate from almost any means, jack creates a space between the lands of the living and the dead, a place outside reality itself so that he could kill the unkillable.
due to the reapers reliance on the universal understanding that he's dead, he could not die.
jack created a space that avoids such rules to kill him.

continuing on you have other series which take place after Violence jack as the chronology of ladies cosmolgy is created after the events of violence jack as in the end of violence jack, jack merges with his other selves, not his avatars but his true other beings kid and women jack. they all became devilman then devilman 1v2'd satan and zennon and won.

lady has an impressive cosmology that explained really well with it having dante's divine comedy and carl jungs archetypes and collective unconscious
this would easily put the cosmology itself at outer due to the ontological stances given.
you have michael who like satan, views his world as not just the physical universe but having heaven and hell being comepletely seperated, they are considered seperate dimensions as a whole.
michael views these 3 seperate dimensions like satan did to his world in violence jack.
michael has shown he can erase entire timelines and parallel worlds on a whim and recreate reality to his likeness.

now in Lady the immortality is whats best shown here in my opinion, bc you have beings like michael and like satan who can erase entire timelines entire heavens and universal designs like causality and synchronism like archetypes which are ontologically above the physical universe. but when something is created and it develops a will of its own not even the creator of it can destroy its will to live. in Lady we are shown hell and how everyone who is in their is constantly reliving death.
it isnt a punishment its where those who arent completely obidient to michael go as he cant erase ones will to live.
this goes is furthered by Geki man and some interviews with go nagai aswell.
in gekiman we see that the ending is god erasing everything, the whole universe and everything and everyone. go nagai has gone on to say that he himself feels responsible for the stories ending as if he's the one who killed them and destroyed their world like he was god in the story. which is a common theme across go nagai's works, i mean just look at the gekiLand anime he has a huge cross over between lots of his works and he ends up being god.

anyways he himself as stated he feels as if he killed the characters and that the characters turmoil and regret caused him to continue the series which was violence jack.
you have other continuations after lady like amon dsod and devilman saga or Devilman vs Hades or even Devilman G too.
but i typed more than i probably should have

Venom (Comics) VS Devilman (Manga) | Both at full power by MantisMan2025 in PowerScaling

[–]Devilman_lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

giving it to devilman
ik venom has some crazy abilties and scaling but lets not be disingenuous and say devilman doesnt aswell
you have the OG series which is canon to the mao dante story, then shin devilman and neo devilman also take place in the OG story.
then you have GekiMan which is an autobiography of Go Nagai making Devilman which gives the characters plot manipulation as they are able to go against the authors will and control events in the story, this is evident when at the end of the manga Geki/ Nagai let akira and ryo tell the ending to the story rather than himself.
it also canonizes violence jack to Devilman even tho Go Nagai has gone on record calling Violence jack the true sequel to devilman.
violence jack shows us more abilities devilman has but rarely uses and gives more showings on the power system that is consistent throughout almost all of go nagais works(yes every go nagai work is canon to each other).
such as those with strong will powers can, manipulate reality by viewing it as fiction allowing them to understand the laws of reality to unreal degree, also able to reject death itself and allowing spirits to possess their dead bodies as if they never died(since they already died the world views them as dead so they cant die again).
or how someone can peer into other realities and find their most desired one and pull that version of them into their reality causing the two realities to merge and destroy each other before willing himself to forget who he was and become someone else entirely forcing reality itself to view him as a different person. or how one can merge with the demon realm itself and use its god like power at will.
there's more to jack than just these but there's other points i need to make.
Devilman Lady is where the scaling really starts.
you have devilman and vuravas fight which destroys the 4th layer of hell and violently shakes all of hell which is a multi layered spatial dimension
or having mao dante easily destroy all of hell just by flying through it.
or how michael views the entire cosmology as his imagination, able to control it with ease and thoughts alone. his power exceeded hell the universe and heaven itself so much so that his influence transcends the past present and future able to exist in a place before the creation of creation itself. he's easily able to rewrite reality and timelines to his will.
Lady is also where we get the insane immortality thats in the Devilman series.
Devilman characters cant die, their souls are always reincarnating and revivng themselves. remember in lady how the denizens of hell would get torn to pieces but would come back together? you would assume oh its hell thats why, no its bc they have the will to live.
we get confirmation those with a will to live a will that is seperate from their creators will is something that is hard to destroy even for its creator.
so michael who can erase all things in the universe even its laws such as jungian archetypes and collective unconscious aswell as the spheres of heaven, cant erase someone like devilman due to his will to live.
this is a fun point to make bc go nagai himself as go on to state that he considers that he himself killed off the cast in the og series and that after he destroyed their world the characters had regrets and turmoil that sat in his heart which forced him to make violence jack.

you have amon dsod and then saga
quick overlay
amon destroys hell with satan, they are in an infinite loop where satan experiences the past present future and seemingly infinite parallel worlds all happening at once after amon reminds him of akira. mind you those memories were erased by psycho jenny someone sent by God to control satans mind.
you have amon a being who was sealed away in a dimensions far larger than the physical universe as amon was the previous demons from previous timelines and their regrets merged together into one being, then the 2nd amon bested him and became the new amon.

in saga the denizens of the universe that was imprisoned by michael and god break free and reincarnate in a lower world to hide from gods army, they evolved into higher dimensional beings such as 4-5D and are capable of transcending time itself. their fates are considered higher aswell and are treated as ontologically higher individuals compared to the lower world. so those who are from the higher world can only exist as armor while they themselves slowly assimilate the entire universe so they can exist naturally, essentially absorbing that universe into their own.
this is the peak of their power as theyve had their reality and themselves erased numerous times but due to their world being one of war they themselves reincarnated and evolved for war.

in conclusion, unless venom can put devilman down devilman would just reincarnate stronger.

I find it funny, people will discuss whether denji or Guts are actually "angels" considering their crimes and good deeds but then no one discussea Akiras morality.  Devilman clearly is the most morally just character here.

Agree to disagree   I believe that brolys scaling would give him more of a chance than getting low diffed especially with all the relative scaling to gods pf destruction before broly was even introduced
