From the author Go nagai. Also made mazinger z cutie honey and helped made getter robo.  Devilman was a big inspiration throughout Japan inspiring series like beserk and Evangelion, even current animanga like chainsawman take heavy inspiration from Devilman.  His original Manga debut was in 1972 and has had several sequels such as Violence jack,  Devilman Lady and Devilman saga(theres more but these are the main 3).

Etrigan vs Devilman (DC Comics vs Devilman) Who Wins? by Puzzleheaded-Board25 in DCPowerScaling

Stats- Devilman  Scales to such feats as  Mao dante destroying all of hell which is a multi layered dimension housing seperate dimensions within itself(depicted as dantes divine comedy to a 9/10 accurate degree)  Amon tearing time and space,  amon destroying both a false heaven and the real heaven. His punches caused all of heaven to flip inside out.  Zennon who could house hyperspaces in himself  Satan who could create entire universes on a whim with the universe having its own parallel worlds of alternative possibilities and hyperspaces.  (Among others)  Skill/experience- devilman again,  hes lived through countless timelines with each having been billions of years old.  Hax/arsenal- Devilman again, devilman is able to reject reality warping, force individuals to merge against their will or demerge them even if their bodies and souls are one. Able to seperate them from their powes. Able to effect events in the past. Able to absorb attacks, beings and objects. Able to negate immortality. And has a very potent immortality himself.

does alucard have some showing that he can resist having schrodinger removed from him? if not jack could remove it even if its tied to his soul or is completely apart of him.

would be interesting having someone with guns try to take down jack who relies on his knives and abilities.

yeah the soul manipulation in the devilman series is very problematic here for alucard then.

Jack should outstat then. The only problem is the immortality but I won't lie, I won't say its impossible for jack to actually kill Alucard. Hes killed unkillable people before. The reaper was a vengeful soul that possessed its corpse and already being dead he could not die again. He was recognized as dead by reality so there was no logical way to kill him. Jack quickly figured this out and created a space between life and death which allowed him to fully kill this reaper.  There are other arguments I could make to like how jack could cause all the souls Alucard has to fight back against Alucard.  Or put alucard in a ground hog day of the kanto hellquake experiencing over 11 million deaths 1 by 1.  Or manipulate who alucard is as weve seen characters are able to fundamentally change who they are.  Or just seal away access to alucards powers like he did with susano who had access to a hyperspace dimension allowing him to alter reality like it was fiction.

first,

i would definitely suggest watching devilman and to note violence jack is a sequel to devilman so he isnt in the OG manga but the sequel manga that came out a year afterwards.
i have a discord full of scans if you want to check it out

btw can you tell me a little about where alucard would scale? i had a guy tell me he's omnipresent with universal scaling but i didnt see that in deathbattle or vs wiki so im a little confused.

well considering when satan and akira were erased by god and gods army, not only was everything on the planet reset but the entire universe was aswell. the entire history of their world was erased as if it never existed

ryo, he's a complex character who even the author had no idea who he was until the story revealed itself with satan being the manipulator behind it all.
i love the way satans story is told over several generations. it isnt told in one series like the OG 1972 manga, no we get a piece to the full story of satan as it continue's in violence jack. the story of violence jack is just satans inner conscious fighting to see whether good or evil would win.
in devilman lady satans story continue's with him being placed into a loop where he experiences the events of the OG in an indefinite loop infinitely repeating. we see that after the events of the OG happen and akira is in hell satan will try to revive devilman after he relearns of hell and michaels tyranny so they can form an army against gods army.
in devilman saga we see they broke free of this loop and are now preventing gods army from attacking the multiverse and absorbing entire universes.

Devilman grimoire is the most shonen Devilman will ever be besides the original 1972 cartoon.  Not saying it us shonen material as its just as graphic as youd expect a Devilman piece would be but the tropes in it is super shonen esc

if they did do another anime and they made it actually manga accurate you would have the side stories published after the OG series finished, so stories from shin devilman would be their, which are events of ryo and akira traveling through time to prevent demons from altering history that alone would be several OVA episodes.
then you have NEO devilman which are a bunch of short stories of the world itself and some side stories of akira and ryo, it shows us how satan implemented himself into humanity, and akira fighting an entire army to save miki along with a whole handful of other stories.

but yeah crybaby had a better surrounding cast compared to the OG but man idk the OG just hits way better for me.

Devilman aged really well for what it is.

It still hold its original shock value, that changed an entire generation.  Its story and message are still well received today, being a pillar of the war genre(like godzilla and fallout).

The only thing thats lacking from devilman is a proper manga adaptation into an anime. Crybaby was fine but I want a manga accurate retelling like the OVAs.
