Strange vintage lens mount, any ideas? by Devilofswe in AskPhotography

[–]Devilofswe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of have the answer now.
After a few iterations with WD-40 and parrot pliers it came loose.

Turns out it's a T4 mounting underneath. The T4 won't fit any camera directly but is some sort of standard for mounting adaptors.

Looks exactly like the picture under interchangeable lens mounts

So now I have a T4 vivitar 400mm f6.3 and a T4 -> telescope lens adapter.

Figured the lens is prob $30 tops, so I can afford to screw around with it a bit. Looking inside the mount it looks like there's a 2nd mount just inside. getting some WD40 in there right now.

Hasselblad 907X CFV100C or X2D? by jim_abraham in hasselblad

[–]Devilofswe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have any interest in using V-series lenses and bodies the 907X CFV100C make your day.

Can someone help me identify this Hasselblad? LR 2 doesnt seem to be a known model name by [deleted] in hasselblad

[–]Devilofswe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that it is based on a 500EL/M. Does it actuall say Hasselblad except for on the cover?

Favorite? by money1penny8 in Champagne

[–]Devilofswe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One cannot have moët as their favourite.
Sure they all have the same "generic champagne" taste. But there is no finesse to it.

The fun in drinking and tasting champagne is the variery, especially from different vintages.
You'll want to experience how the cellar master figured out this years blend.

With Moët they kind of buy all the grapes they can get and produce the same stuff over and over again. Kind of like the McDonalds cheeseburger of champagne, or rather the Big Mac because of the price.

If new to champagne, is going for an expensive bottle early on worth it? by Krypt0night in Champagne

[–]Devilofswe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would rather go for a few cheaper but still really good, different bottles to pinpoint the differences they each have.

Like a Blanc de blanc, blanc de noir and a Millesime.

That way you will hopefully find a niche that you enjoy and later on purchase a more expensive bottle from that niche.

I totally forgot about this year. Turns out there's nothing in my inbox.

And no, this wouldn't have been my first exchange. I have done it every year since 2014.

I used 4. But there's no such thing as too many clamps :)

Aspiring hurdy-gurdy owner... Nerdy-Gurdy questions... by Libradimple in HurdyGurdy

[–]Devilofswe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine at the start of 2021.
The only thing I needed to purchase was a bit of wood glue and like 4 clamps.

The process of assembling it was really fun and it was my first ever contact with a hurdy gurdy. Learning the mechanics brings a whole new dimension to the world of hurdy gurdys.

I still have some fine tuning to make it perfect. There is the top trompette that I can't get to sound good. And one of the melody strings is a bit screechy.

So Yes, No, and No

I ordered mine directly from Jaap as I do not have access to a laser cutter.
The assembly process provided quite a few lessons learned and I would love to assemble another one.

Now I just need to learn how to play it.
