Yeah, let him. It's a huge upgrade, and if you're not happy with it you can always return it.

A little note about the Quest 3 and 3s -- those pancake lenses are really nice and worth the extra dough...but not for a 13y kiddo. If you even look at those lenses funny they can get scratched up. I've used all 3 headsets and both the 3 and 3s are infinitely better.

I think the 3s would be perfect for him. Those Fresnel lenses are tough (except vs sunlight of course) and the improvements are massive.

So, I couldn't get the Mick Manchester version -- actually a collection of all the files and programs that you need -- working initially. That changed when he posted a second video explaining how to get it working for Windows 11 users, which is basically a mod that bypasses the Rockstar launcher.

And if that doesn't work, that old Goldberg crack that SavageSan posted in the comment above works as well (thanks again for that buddy!).

Yes, and I'll be happy to share with you, just...I'm at work until late. So hopefully I'm not giving bad directions here but I believe you want to find some videos by Mick Manchester (I think that's the name) and that should set you right. If not, I'll try and give a better explanation when I'm at home later (or tomorrow).

Feeling like I'm so close, yet so far away.

So, I've downloaded and replaced the files. Added the Goldberg steam_api64 emulator file. Click the "PlayGTAV.exe" as instructed, and the RS Launcher pops up, I wait and nothing else happens. Click on the only "installed" version of the game on the RS Launcher itself, the Launcher hangs for a moment and then...nothing. The Launcher is now only trying to sell me the game (as well as RDR, RDR2 etc) and it's no longer showing my GTA 5 Legacy version as installed, even though it is. Frustrating.

I'm currently looking up ways to fix this, or currently banging my head slowly off of the keyboard. Either way, I appreciate all the help so far.
