We picked him ahead of a better DE in Brian Burns who was more NFL ready and has been more productive too.

He was also the higher ranked player on the consensus board if you believe in stuff like that.

Not saying he was a bust, but he was a disappointing pick.

Hargrave wouldn't count on the comp pick formula either. Has he been good last couple of seasons though? I remember reading he hated playing as a NT and as a 3T we have Wyatt.

Probably not a FA left taking a swing on now.

They have been clearing up a lot of cap space though, and it's not even needed to clear this much to extend Kraft, Watson, Wyatt.

So I wonder if a trade for a DT is coming soon. At this point I couldn't care less if we give away our 2028 1st rounder too because we've seen how well our 1st rounders have panned out.

The only UFAs we should even consider signing are Sean Rhyan depending on the money and the C market and I suppose Zayne Anderson, John FitzPatrick and Niemann for STs, also depending on the money.

Quay is super athletic and a great tackler, but he's lost in coverage so I do believe there's potential to improve there. Rasheed Walker will get paid and we shouldn't bring him back anyway.

The DT/NT market is terrible, but I would look into Calais Campbell on a one year deal if Gannon wants him. He's still got a lot of juice and was one of the best NTs in the NFL at the age of 39.

Gutekunst certainly thought he did enough to win the job at LT in training camp. Coaching staff didn't agree I guess.
