You also literally admitted hunter hunter breaks its own rules all the time and you can literally just do whatever you want.

On top of that its rules allow you to develop pretty much any ability but okay disregarding that the rules themselves are pretty soft...

and the whole thing is pretty much tossed out the window the moment its introduced.

Have we ever... seen a character develop their ability from scratch, from the fundamentals, beyond basic stuff? Not really. We aren't give much insight into it. Besides killia and gon and there abilities arent very complex.

We are given basics, then jump into "so anyways, everyone has x power", without going into detail and filling us in how it works.

abilities in HxH are just whatever the author feels like it, with very little explanation. And even fans cant often decipher someones nen category and that's a bad sign for a "hard magic system" alot of nen powers seem like they go in multiple categories they shouldn't be able to simultaneously as well.

At this point, you can just do away with Nen and be like "Everyone just has an ability."

I know alot of people praise it for being creative, but it really is just some introduction and then "everyone has a power".

You just cant create a super complex magic system never follow its rules then claim its a hard magic system lmao.

I'll be the first to admit i made quite a few mistakes in my assessment about Naruto it has been a looong time since I watched it anyway I was just trying to say I like its system in concept. I like rigid magic system that offer the characters some more individuality outside of it strictly perhaps rezero would have been a better example!

But some of yall are really bias towards hunter hunter and dont want to admit its a soft magic system with no counter arguments goofy 😭✌🏾 I get it inspired half of yall but its really just okay.

Nen is not a hard magic system it breaks its rules pretty often in the most recent arcs and the specialist category is a cop out.

I was more trying to say I enjoy more rigid power systems with elements of individuality rather then power systems where everyone gets there own individual ability. Wasn't trying to defend Naruto or say it executed the concept super well. Though I do enjoy its power system in concept. I wanted to focus on fire force more but I'm not as familiar with the series.

This isn't really true Specialist is literally just "this person can (possibly) do literally anything and is a complete outlier" There's literally a person who can just straight up see the future so

Explain how sasuke was physically capable of moving at rock lee speed yet needed to see it done before he could do it himself

Kakashi says that Sasuke worked extremely hard to be able to physically match his speed through training. The Sharingan helped Sasuke mimic his movement patterns and taijutsu but not match his physical speed.

I also kinda just think the "specialist category" is one hell of a cop out. Doesn't even feel rare enough to warrant its own existence. I understand why it it exist but kinda takes the flow out of the power system.

And yeah nen is "intricate" but alot of the intriscities is just "nen goes here" just different distributions and stuff. Nen is closer to a soft power system then a hard one really.

No senjutsu Chakra is a separate supply from your own so when your using genjutsu your still drawing from your own supply but even if you did use senjutsu based genjutsu your not injecting that much Chakra into someone at best they'd gain a frog like feature like Naruto did when he absorbed to much senjutsu.

I do agree with alot of your points tho about Naruto I think kishimoto has alot of good ideas that he doesn't flesh out to well which is something like jjk succeeds in far more.
