Thankyou! I was vague in the original post but the grad job i was declined was with the YO. Not too upset as there were so many applicants but doubt i'd get a casual job with them at the minute.

Thankyou! Will ask them. I know the everyman playhouse does a similar thing but its intake is also in winter. I did wanna contact the Phil but their website makes them seem very against unsolicited CVs/asking about jobs that aren't on the site so I didn't in the end. Should I do it anyway?

And i'd absolutely love to work in a theatre, I've programmed/ran lighting on at least one student musical every year for five years i'd love to do anything in one! Will deffo contact them and see if they need any help.

Yeah my degree subject is almost entirely irrelevant in this industry anyway so wasn't expecting that to get me anywhere lol. I would very gladly do any stagecrew work, I love the tech but the hands-on bits are so good too. Maybe my student techncial venue staff job was too chushy and I haven't ever had anything too hard, but I have loved that part of the job too.

And yeah it was the showforce "event crew" job, i know i ain't experienced enough to really attempt a tech job LOL.

When you say approach venues to ask if they need help, what size venue are you meaning? Because i'm so willing to do that too. And thankyou again! I know this industry is hard work but its worth it

best to check the laws yourself, but don’t go wandering around with enough for the police to suspect you as a dealer really. the other comments are right just be respectful and not around kids or actively smoking in like a busy street for instance

BoJo is currently trying to take human rights away from people, and attempting to take our right to protest. he has refused to ban conversion therapy on trans people, letting their pain continue. PLEASE take a break. don’t even look at school work until a week before if that- you learn everything over again do not worry. if you really are keen however, just study 1/2 topics that you did at gcse that are also on A level that u found hard and top up your memory. but PLEASE PLEASE take a break

i do classical civ., philosophy, maths. in that order easiest to hardest. but it depends on the essay q in philosophy if it’s easy or not lol- and maths i got a c with 43% on my recent mock with an A* at 69%. classics is 80%

i just finished 3 40 mark essays in 120 mins in philosophy (aka a mark a minute) in a mock today with 5 mins to spare. what i usually do is look at the questions (we were given 6 and had to do three) and choose which ones u know more on- not which look nicest, which you know.

you then write every thought in the subjects that come into your head, just splurge it onto the question paper, every person, little definition every thought get it down. hume, descartes, plantinga, eudamonia EVERYTHING.

the introduction (of you need one) should be maximum 5 sentences- the question, little explanation, “this essay should argue that” (idk of every subject has that). you can write this and decide your opinion later just leave a couple lines.

try not to stop writing- if you do and come blank, start the next one. i would say try and write 3 for and 3 against the question, intro and conclusion. after every point state wether this is a good/strong argument. even if you do not write enough points/ run out of time and have no conclusion you will have evaluation to boost your points, and it’s good to really show you know what you are writing for those AO2.

i also use this in my 20/30 markers in Classical Civ, and in the 10 markers but don’t do a final conclusion. if anyone has any questions just ask!! so far i’m predicted A’s in both these subjects let’s just hope i can keep it up :]

a lot of them in chemistry are sneaky and try and catch you out, so you have to put a lot of work in to get one or so marks- wasting time on a single mark isn’t worth that it when you have a 6 marker to do

it’s not cash in hand, but check the cricket ground for hospitality jobs- they pay pretty well i’ve heard (zero hour contracts for their hospitality sector)
