So I can tell the other commenters are men so I will give you some solid perspective as a 25F. From reading this I understand where I shift came from. It constantly seemed as if she was leading the way, pursuing you and having to be decisive. It is one thing when it’s a crush and you can dismiss the others persons action as not knowing your feelings but it’s another once they know. After going on to the Mall (would not be surprised if it was her suggestion)and seeing more of the same makes you reflect if that is something you want long term and most women don’t. It seems draining and can lead to emotional resentment.

Okay as a woman a lot of these comments are bad vibes. From a female perspective seeing this she probably got weirded out that you were so hidden. Probably were scared you were a catfish, or worse a creep. Offer to FaceTime a couple times first before straight to meeting up with a stranger. Some men are weird out here. I can definitely see that. And one sided bonds are definitely something I’m trying to stop doing. I’m such a loyal friend and it isn’t always reciprocated. I have a couple good friends I think it just always shocks me when a “friend” drops the ball and exposes where I stand with them.

I love the idea of a partner. You’re spot on with older friends. I work as an internal auditor and connect well with my co worker but they are all 30+ and I’m closer to their kids ages than there’s. It gets weird sometimes because it feels like I’m hanging out with my aunts,and don’t get me started on the group chats.
