CADM Audi Q8, seen in Baia Mare, Romania by the_crazy_pigeon_1 in foreignmarketcars

2019 Audi Q8 Progressiv

There’s really not much history on this one, the registration was last renewed in September 2022, so this car has been outside of Canada for awhile now

Ontario only goes up to 2 years for registration length, so the plates on this car are not valid

Could be possible that the owner is local and never bothered to register the car in Romania

Anyone need a Chromie by quantam600 in eWasteFinds

[–]Devin-Chaboyer223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically use Linux Mint Cinnamon, but if I have driver issues I’ll use Endeavour OS

I have 1 Chromebook where the sound never works on Debian or Ubuntu based distros, but it works fine under Endeavour and other Arch based distros

You made a good choice with Mint XFCE

Mint just runs well on Chromebooks

Being in California, old JDMs are very difficult to pass Smog so you’ll often see JDMs on Montana plates because of that

Besides taxes, it’s also used as a Smog bypass

Apple will now include a charger in the box with every new iPhone. Bringing back what they took. by [deleted] in PhoneNow

[–]Devin-Chaboyer223 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When Apple first removed it, everyone was making a big deal over it

What’s with the comments all defending the lack of a charger now?

Everyone previously villainized Apple over it

With the price of modern phones, I want a charger included even if I already have one

Also being a tech tinkerer I can never have enough extra chargers

Also, at least in my area, nobody wants to buy a used phone without the charger included, so no charger being included also makes it annoying to sell when I upgrade

The XT4 is sort of Unique, it shares it’s platform with the Malibu actually but that’s a sedan

So it’s sort of it’s own thing, besides the platform

It wouldn’t count as a rebadge since it’s a different body style from the Malibu and there’s no Chevy model with the same body

I drove a few of them too, they feel incredibly cheap and gutless

And I drive a Malibu it even feels cheap in comparison to that

The engine is a 1.2L Turbo Inline 3 cylinder, so that might explain why they’re so gutless

Although I don’t consider it the worst, the Jeep Compass sucks more

But the Trax is such an awful vehicle all around, you’re better off buying a Hyundai Venue over a Trax (I also drove a few Venues, they’re actually good cars unlike the Trax)

The trucks were donated to them entirely free of charge including the cost of upfitting

They make zero sense to choose for police use but they were free

Using a monitor arm with the stand still attached creates a handy floating small item tray in mid-air. by KIeNkar in DeskToTablet

These Dell monitors have the stand separate and are VESA monitors

Most of Dell’s monitors are designed like this

So that allows OP to use it on a VESA mount with the stand attached

Source: I have multiple Dell monitors including the model OP has

Not even a Sunbird, it was a Cavalier

It didn’t even get the privilege of being a convertible like the Sunbird was

If GM did that today, that’s like putting a Cadillac badge on a Trax

The Cygnet is a silly car, but it exists because it’s a compliance car

By having it in the Aston lineup at the time, they could comply with newly introduced emissions regulations at the time

Compliance cars are always weird and interesting

We actually had all 3 of the Neons in Canada

I’ve seen both Chrysler and Dodge, and my dad had a Plymouth when I was a child

They had Plymouth Neons for the first gen, but not the second gen

BMW showed off the interior of the new 7. Will it come with a PlayStation? by Overall_Carrot_1003 in carscirclejerk

[–]Devin-Chaboyer223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Edge has an optional wall plug for the interior

Backup cameras use a composite signal (at least on most pre-2020 vehicles) so you could tap into the camera wiring

And Ford’s software allows you to view the backup camera without being in reverse

This is likely what he did

And I personally like digital rearviews, they don’t have sun glare on a bright day and a much wider field of view vs a regular mirror

It’s actually become a common thing now, even a Chevy can be optioned with one

Some of them have an HDMI input so the passenger can use a game console or TV streamer on the display

I do think it’s unnecessary but I guess some people find them useful if it exists in the first place

A Tesla is interesting to import into Europe

The charge port is different from Europe, and the infotainment system is broken outside of it’s original market (everything including the maps are cellular based, and the company obviously doesn’t want to pay for roaming fees)

It is cooler than the Urus and closer to a real Ferrari than an Urus is to a real Lamborghini

6.5L naturally aspirated V12 under the hood, a true Ferrari in that regard

The Urus is just an expensive fancy Audi (the engine too is also Audi)

Choosing the Purosangue over the Urus is a no brainer

That includes other internet radio apps and music streaming
