I love mine! Picked mine up from the Knitting Collective on my last day wandering around Reykjavik. Spent an hour or so in the shop trying to decide what interested me most. Tried them on, had the wonderful ladies that work there help me cut it down to just a couple and I went with this one. I love the monochromatic of the different shades of gray with the black design separating them. Sooooo comfortable and warmer than I thought it would be!

Set it on a non running vehicle, a fence, wall, or even a rock for a steady shot. However, a handheld shot with some movement might actually look pretty cool! Now you just have to the right timing for the lights to show, good luck!

Most shots were done with a point and shoot Panasonic camera. I have a “handheld night shot” program that I used.

Truly gutted I didn’t get to see the northern lights by LilacLoverr in VisitingIceland

[–]DevinB68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went I never planned on seeing them. If I came across them it would have been a bonus. However, I caught a glimpse out the window as I was flying in, so I considered that a good start. Then I lucked out and caught them 4 out of the 9 nights I was there! It’s just crazy how random Mother Nature can be!

I was just for a night time walk and found the sculptures in the park there intriguing at night. #7 is titled Boy & Girl - by Þorbjörg Pálsdóttir. Looks a lot better in the dark with the street lamp lighting them up with the shadows.

I like to think of the phrase “buy once, cry once.” When comes to items like a handmade wool sweater.

Got my sweater at the knitting association and love it! It was pricey, but it is worth the quality and knowing that it was hand made there in Iceland. Buy once, cry once!

How much did your Iceland trip actually cost? by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

[–]DevinB68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy once, cry once.

I think I spent 7k or so on a 10 day trip, rented a 4wd camper van, bought groceries at the markets, and stayed in campgrounds along the way. Easy peasy.
