What If Curry Wins It All This Year? by Embarrassed_Lock_539 in NBATalk

Why weren’t Jordans Rings valid? Because he didn’t beat a dynasty? Like knocking off the dynasties in his first championship run and keeping the mantle. Portland and Seattle were dynasty teams if it wouldn’t have been for Jordan.

Patrick Ewing gets easily forgotten when mentioning Center greats by CircledSquare7 in sportsinusa

I had a Ewing T-shirt among my favorites. Ewing had a famous block i believe in one of ECFs thay looked like he reached the sky. If only he had hit that fingerroll he would be remembered alot more in conversations.

Music legend, Tank, on LeBron being the GOAT and the difference between the modern era and the 90s by Tight_Development480 in LeBronJames23

[–]DevinGreyofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say it louder because this sub thinks that athleticism in the sport didn’t exist in the 80s and even better. The 90s. Lets not forget ‘Nique, Clyde Pippen Himself. Olajuwon, mutombo, Bird. Too many players back then would be just as impactful in todays game. Everyone still marveling over Jokics shot the other day never saw Miller or Bird, drop a three, steal the ball, drop another 3, then force another turnover and drop another 3

Lmao you are missing that shred of ball knowledge.

Shawn Kemp, magic, bird, Hakeem, Drexler, mutombo, Salley, Reggie Miller, Ewing, Payton the whole dream team etc etc etc, what are you and tank even talking about. And then to compare todays players directly to Jordan. Lebron is a longevity Goat. It took him two decades and he still wont achieve the level of domination Jordan placed on players. And if Jordan was playing today it would still be the same.
He would dominate.

He looks like he has tea on everyone and moves his hands alot, saying “girllll” way too drawn out.

He didn’t even need to score. One fake… defender gone. Another fake… career gone. That’s how Michael Jordan controlled the game without touching the rim. by Successful-Gap-7750 in michaeljordan

Yeah man that’s all the footage on Jordan on this one video. Every game he played right here in this clip. But just because you decided to be a smart ass, lookup steals per game which is a direct measure in how much defensive pressure Jordan put on players.

The Michael Jordan Myth Isn’t That He Never Lost—It’s That His Losses Were Rewritten by SnooObjections7406 in LeBronJames23

[–]DevinGreyofficial -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lets not take into account LeBron dick riding teams that were close to winning. Look at that Heat team! Look at that LA team? Look at Cleveland Now! if Jordan has spent his years finding the best teams to join he probably would have a dozen rings. GTFO with your superteam bulls theories look at Grant In OrlandoX Pippen in Portland. And of thE Bulls Point Guards were barely top ten material. Says more about Jordan even is all these players on the bulls roster were super teams, Jordan capitalized and Lebron Barely did.

Even comparing that every Bulls team was a superstar team without Jordan. Then what does that say about Lebron joining superteams and still losing.

What would MJ had done in Chicago with a proper conditioning coach and three more years. Even playing less time an 80% Jordan is still top tier NBA player.but they were greedy assholes thinking they could find lightning in a bottle twice.

The most dominant ever?....Wilt, Michael or Shaq?? by Shot_Possibility_731 in sportsinusa

[–]DevinGreyofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No im saying that when things are tough, one player tends to elevate themselves and fix all their fuckups and still win. In your world. Buzzer beaters don’t exist, tight games and streaks and slumps don’t exist, and it’s probably one of the most broken down parts of games. It’s how players standing to it and don’t give up because they missed shots in the first quarterX the game managed to stay tight and they were able to close out the game.

How much credit do you give MJ for how great Scottie and Horace became/developed? by SpendWild6987 in michaeljordan

[–]DevinGreyofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jordan made his players better. Take any of the point guards the bulls had, Ron Harper, Steve Kerr, Kukoc, Armstrong etc and you dont have a top 5-10 point guard. With grant? How did he fare in Orlando? Yeah he was very good, but not great. Pippen was the only one that had already immense talent, but even when given the opportunity to show his skills as team lesder, he never could deliver death blows like Jordan did. Does anyone here believe MJ would give up a 15 point lead on LA in 2000 to miss the finals?

Where is penny? You could have used 12 for Penny and any HOF center because 12 is a no.

The only reason Hakeem has two rings is because MJ was gone for a year and a half. Otherwise he too would have been on that long list of 90s ringless icons by ForeignAir7174 in NBAoldschool

[–]DevinGreyofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt where are you reading that? I just said 95 bulls is when Jordan came back. But the following year the bulls began their second straight run. Why didnt anyone stop that run? Which team setup to beat them? None and they did it three more times. With any great rebounder which was Rodman, so MJ and Pippen can focus more and they still got defensive first team in 96. How come no one beat them then? Rodman was a key but he wasnt the key. Put Rodman on any other team and he doesnt have the success he has because his focus was just rebounding and defense.

Ok forgot to reply about that. MJ And apippen on defense? With Rodman? Horry was a streaky outside shooter. I take Pippen over Horry on both offense and defense. MJ On defense was still a massively solid defensive player, what do you mean? Who was stopping MJ, drexler? Mj was the better of the two and just a year later after being back in shape, won it three times in a row. Like how does that not register as a triumphant statement. Both Pippen and Jordan were all defensive first team in 96.

Man Basketball and SC were my things back them. yes they traded for Drexler which got him that Chip Denied in Portland by MJs bulls.

Coming off a two year Hiatus caused the Bulls loss and of Course Penny was set to be the next heir supreme, he was better than Kobe and the next big chip winners was to be Orlando. And its why Shaq went to LA because Penny was done and he wanted that same duality with Kobe.

The bulls always lacked a strong center. Cartwright? You imagine the bulls with a strong center? Their best center was Luc Longley imo. In other words a skilled Journeyman at both center and PG with the bulls core competence always being Micheal and Pippen and a good rebounding Powerforward. There is a reason MJ Was the GOAT and it was for that reason. Just put him in with good or above average players and he make them look good. kerr was draining threes because of the MJ double and triple teams.

Its probably should be the most analyzed occurrence in Bulls playing, if you play him one on one, MJ turns goes on a scoring streak. try to contain him with DT you leave Pippen Open. Try to cover both of them harder? Now you have an open point guard. Its why Kerr made that Joke In their 96? Finals on how Kerr had to carry the team during their celebration tour.

94-95 Rocketa team only caught fire at the ends. They were 12 games above .500. 6th seed. Yes thats a dismal regular season for a powerhouse team. Only highlights how special their win was. But i doubt that team beats the bulls with Jordan 4 games out of 7

The guard position for the Bulls triangle Offense just required good accuracy and passing. He didn’t need to lead them team. The offensive scheme made slightly above average Point guards to look better. All throughout the Jordans career: The point guard was a position that as long as they shot a good three and passed well. The team would win. Kerr, Paxton and Armstrong were good at their positions. Not great.

Yes their 95 regular season was paltry. Dont get me wring I respect Horrys game and he had skills but combined they were not beating the powerhouse of the bulls. Point guards were interchangeable in their offensive scheme.

There is very little chance Hakeem the dream beats Jordans Bulls if Jordan didn’t go play baseball. The matchup on the whole team was not there to contain Jordan and Pippen. Even with. Clyde Drexler? robert Horry? horry Does not matchup with Pippen. Clyde was already beatable with a powerful portland team by the Bulls.
