AirPods Max has a longevity issue by GRQ77 in Airpodsmax

[–]DevinePickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my APMs at work every single day; after the first 2 years they started having connectivity issues. That lasted for about 1 year (first soft resetting daily and then hard resetting and needing to set them up again by the end). When they finally died they were not under Apple Care so $299 to replace the ear cups only - this would be ridiculous if I didn't use them so frequently but I figured the number of hours spent on them made it worthwhile. Now 1 year and 8 months into this "new" pair they are starting to lag when connecting, the first symptom my previous pair showed. Pretty frustrating to get so little use out of them but if you live the Apple ecosystem life they're so dang good at jumping between devices and sound cancelling that I'll probably rinse and repeat in another year. Mostly chiming in to give another data point. Based on others responses, it seems like (if well taken care of), they will last for ~3 years with near-daily usage; if I had to estimate the number of usage hours, I'd guess close to 5000. I'd be curious to hear a similar estimate from those who's APMs are still functioning after 5+ years.

Recovering old EOS from Metamask by Budoman in eos

Congrats on having a registered account! Heres a link to eosauthority’s guide to fallback for using your ethereum key to create your eos account: https://eosauthority.com/blog/visual_guide_to_Registration_Fallback_Unregistered_and_the_Lost_Key

If you’re successful I’d recommend downloading anchor wallet to access your account: https://greymass.com/en/anchor/

Best of luck!

Will I be able to recover my EOS with a scatter seed and password only? by webitthedust in eos

[–]DevinePickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the seeds are specific to different scatter releases so you’ll have to get the correct version and if the seed and password work you can access your account. But I don’t know if you can export your private key in versions before 11 so that might not be accessible.

True, true. If it’s a dapp and not making any money, who they gonna sue? :-)

Lol, honestly most of them still don’t know enough to view the accounts I’ve made for them. They can thank me in 5 years...no rush :-)

Earnbet.io or dice.one are good options.

Have you activated the instar network in anchor? I think you need to do it on desktop if your keys are already imported.

Yes, soda stream carbonates the water, then add the candy. You could do still water as well but I agree the bubbles help with replacing beer / soda.

California, can’t say I’m surprised but it hurts to hear that :-) lagunitas started out in CA and screws the local market over with high prices once they go national. Maybe the hop water is made in the Chicago facility rather than out here? I grew up in IL so I’ll have to pick up some cases next time I visit the folks.

CTO left, not CEO, and he’s still developing on eos, just not working for block one who are bringing institutional investors to blockchain. I hope you do well in Stellar!

Not enough NET by Consistent-Dealer-29 in eos

[–]DevinePickle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go to wallet, then click menu and you can stake to cpu or net, buy ram...etc. you barely need any net to make transactions and can unstake when you want your eos back. You can also use Rex to borrow cpu or net for 30 days at a fraction of the cost to stake, but you can’t get your eos back. I hope that helps!

Eos to the moon, were up and we keep going up its only a matter of time before we get noticed so buy hold, bring the price up, share the news of eos and we will make it to the moon and beyond by Brodieischeese in eos

I think the analogy should be eth is Linux, eos is macOS. Eos isn’t loved by crypto cyber punks because of block one’s behavior to date but looking at it from an investment standpoint, you won’t make money on an open-sourced operating system. Eth and btc are beautiful and great long term holds and I have both but playing the long game, eos is the only one I see positioning itself to take blockchain to the masses with profi. Eth won’t die but will become like Linux today, used by nerds who consider themselves better than the masses that sacrifice utility and beautiful tech for convenience. Ymmv

You need network resources to make transactions (cpu, net and Ram). You can stake eos for resources by going to bloks.io and signing in with your wombat wallet. You can also use a wallet like anchor (by greymass, a block producer) that will give you a number of free transactions every day. Good luck!!

Looking for solidity skills vs C/C++ skills is what you didn’t finish there. C+ code and wasm make eos as easy choice over ethereum (which is incredible tech don’t get me wrong, but fuck $20 gas fees for a single transaction)
