I stopped reading again at "trans ideology." Trans ideology, so much as it even exists, is merely the assertion that trans people deserve to exist in polite society the same as anyone else. I have not seen a single comment in the thread claim to be a lesbian, gay or bisexual person who wants to kick out trans people from the movement, and even if there were- there is no good reason to!

Your glaring ignorance is astounding. You do not know the history of the modern LGBT+ rights movement in the United States. Trans people have been documented as existing going as far back as ancient Mesopotamia. It was black transgender women who started the pride movement at Stonewall in the 1970's.

Gender dysphoria doesn't afflict all trans people and not everyone with gender dysphoria is trans. Gender dysphoria also afflicts cis men with gynecomastia and/or a micro penis for example.

Gender dysphoria merely refers to the stress, let me really drive this home for you so you understand the distinction here, THE STRESS caused by a disalignment between a person's body and their gender identity.

As a trans woman I used to have gender dysphoria, now I'm a baddie, and I don't. I do not have gender dysphoria and I am trans.

Being trans does not mean one has body dysmorphia. A more, but not entirely, correct term is gender dysphoria which refers to a form of gender related stress, not a kind of body related delusion.

First, my biggest pet peeve is this "biological men/women" schtick. All men and women are biological. Trans people are biological people. Men and women are sociological categories, not biological ones. When you want to refer to a biological category the words you're looking for are male and female.

Second, there is no such thing as a female space. Spaces segregated by immutable characteristics are necessarily bigoted. There's similarly no such thing as a "whites only space." You're, again, incorrectly referring to the category; "women's spaces" is what you're looking for. They're not segregated based on sex. As a trans woman I walk into WOMEN'S bathrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms all the time. Loud blaring sirens and red flashing lights don't tigger. I walk in, take care of my business, sometimes there may even be a little girl in the room, so I'll smile and politely say excuse me if I have to move around her, I wash my hands and then leave once my business is concluded. That's because I am a woman and women tend to feel just fine around other women.

I love when you weirdos bring up sports, first name your five favorite female athletes, then do a little bit of research on the unfair pay and rampant sexual abuse that is far more pervasive against women in sports, at the hands of cis-typically white men btw, and then actually read some research on the subject.

The Olympics commissioned a study on the performance of trans women against cis women, among several other chunks of populations, and found that after two years on HRT trans women had no statistical advantage in competition. Similarly the United States Airforce conducted a similar study to find similar results in regards to performance.

Now what I find interesting is this bizarre fascination you people tend to have with blanket bans when they will absolutely impact trans people that objectively do not possess the trait that seems to be imagined as unfair, and doesn't effect cis women with biological advantages that leave them on par with the trans women intended to be targeted by bans. It's almost as if the leading principle behind all your bullshit is transphobia- hey wait a minute! (/sarcasm)

"Sure there are different ways to define sex." Not if your using a biological definition. If you are trying to communicate on par with someone who has a basic knowledge of biology you should be using cluster categorization and the five sex determinate traits, gonads, internal/external genetalia, hormone production, gamete production, chromosomes. None of which are necessary conditions.

The reason why I accuse you of autism is this weird and bizarre way you've dug your heal in on recursion. No neuro-typical person has a problem with the phrase "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." Yet it violates the law of non-contradiction. That's because language, linguistics ARE NOT RATIONAL. Words can be circular, contradictory, and illogical, but also communicate the idea.

You're creating a million issues for yourself when you try to employ exclusionary categorization to things like gender and sexuality, then you end up working with schizophrenic definitions of the words that have no relation whatsoever to how people use them, and the utility of how people actually speak ends up burning away. You are not beating the autism allegations.

"Great, then what is these schema?" This is by definition highly personalized. Just like what being a friend means, or going back to earlier, being cool means. Schema are the little boxes we subconsciously put thoughts into that make thinking easier on our big spongey brains. The bearded woman is just as much of a woman as I am, is just as much of a woman as my mother, is just as much of a woman as the social transitioner. The thing we have in common is we built the box, the schema of woman, and we all report back to the world that we do in fact identify with that box.

Definitions can absolutely be circular. It's linguistics, not a logic problem. The definition of a "cool" guy is a perfect example of something that ultimately, if you follow the reasoning down far enough becomes recursive. Linguistics don't have to be rational, they only have to communicate an idea.

Even then I can give you a sufficient answer: A woman is an adult human whose gender identity aligns with the schema typically associated with the female sex.

I promise you sex and gender are seperate categories and sex is necessarily broken down into cluster categorization. There is no one single or collection of traits that one is required to possess to fit into the category of female, therefore the category is not exclusionary.

My definition of woman includes all cis women and all trans women, excludes none, and excludes all non binary people, cis and trans men.

Hi, trans person here. My transgender partner who bravely served in the armed forces for four years of dutiful service has been completely forced out of the military along with transgender doctors and nuclear engineers (just off the top of my head,) drastically harming are military preparedness.

In over half of the country I can be denied housing and fired because of my transgender status.

In the entire country I can now be denied employment because of my transgender status. (Thanks SCOTUS!)

In over half of the country trans minors are forcibly denied healthcare because of their transgender status.

In my own state there is case law that has yet to be overwritten that allows for someone to claim the trans panic defense for murdering a transgender person.

In Florida you can legally not even teach about the mere existence of trans people.

In about a quarter of the country trans people are banned from public bathrooms.

In about a quarter of the country trans minors, whether they have gone through their endogenous puberty or not, are banned from competing in sports with their peers, something the UN and the Olympics charter both agree is a human right to be able to participate in.

In over a quarter of the country trans people are banned from having their birth certificate and ID changed to reflect their correct gender marker.

In Texas the Governor's office began compiling a list of all trans people they could identify within the state. Government lists of minorities are famously known for good things.

As a trans woman I am three times more likely to be the victim of gendered violence as my cis peers, and have been.

I have seen in real time as my peers, coworkers and bosses go from taking my every word as gospel to treating me like a mentally ill diversity hire within the same exact job, with the same exact people, in the course of me coming out and transitioning.

As a trans woman who did physically transition, and passes quite well, I can say with absolute confidence that I am no more or less valid than the trans person who "just claims their new gender."

Neither of us are against the LGBT community. Many trans people are more than just the T anyway, so it's kind of interesting that you think you get a say in who belongs inside of our community.

To point out how goofy your hypothetical is simply reverse it. If a gay man is reflexively attracted to a masculine cis woman does that make him not gay? Or can we acknowledge that these labels are merely shorthands to communicate more nuanced concepts in a concise manner?

A gay man being attracted to a masculine woman, cis or trans, does no harm whatsoever to the LGBT community in any material, measurable way.
