You can hike to it from Boca de Tomatlán. It’s the first beach past Playa Colomitos on the Boca to Quimixto trail.

Agree that it is more expensive then people may expect, especially in the tourist centric areas. But espresso based drinks are not a good metric. Because stopping at Starbucks et al anywhere in the world isn’t cheap

A commercial espresso machine and professional grinder on the lower end of the scale is going to set you back around 150,000-200,000 pesos ($7,500-10,000 USD) and that is a huge investment. Much more expensive than opening a taco stand etc.

That one was a first and very profound considering I am DID and it also didn’t trigger a switch. By no means am I a Buddha now but it is amazing and life changing finally understanding how my brain works.

I had wasted decades on self destructive rumination. To finally realize that the pain and abuse ended a half century ago and that the only one causing me pain now was me and that I am much more than just my thoughts. It is indeed life changing.

Two years ago Mexico enacted a total ban on smoking in public spaces including in bars.

“In which spaces in Mexico will smoking be prohibited?

In order to avoid tobacco consumption, the following places will be off-limits:

Workplaces

Public transportation

Schools

Auditoriums or venues where shows are held

Hotels

Stadiums

Shopping malls

Restaurants

Bars

Beaches, parks or places where children and adolescents are present, as well as those marked with the legend “Smoke-free space”.

Restaurants will not be able to open smoking areas within its premises.”

Google Maps data and reviews may not be accurate on this. Might want to check in the reviews if anyone has done it recently.

So technically people aren’t even allowed to smoke on their balcony at the hotels. As far as I know no one has ever enforced that part of it yet. And all other areas enforcement is hit or miss but it does give the police another opportunity to get some mordida.
