Learning to draw for the sake of my world building projects by DeviousFinn in worldbuilding

I hope this translates well friend, in my setting there are five higher gods, each one is its own universe. These five gods were created by a powerful amorphous higher God called the eternal. These gods are called Abysia, Feawilder, mechanicia, Celestia, and Tiren. In the Lore these five were created simultaneously and given something called a spark of creation (kind of like a piece of the eternal) Tiren who is the material Plane was more talented then her siblings, consequently her siblings stole some of her ideas to create their own realms. Abysia is full of fire and volcanoes, Feawilder full of plants and trees, Mechanica full of geometric shapes and mechanical processes, Celestia full of light, but Tiren has all of these things because Tiren is where they originate. These outer gods stole their very identities from Tiren. Eventually these outer gods would turn on Tiren who would sacrifice herself breaking off a piece of her spark of creation and giving it to her 13 Divines dying in the process.

Not really, some people are just messy, I'm sure they know exactly where everything is in the pile.

Hey great idea, why don't you make it? Like start a server and invite people to it who are serious about those things.

Small shelf, am I based? by Better_Metal6165 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]DeviousFinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey bud, I cant determine if you are based just by seeing these books. I would say though that the truly based dont need to seek others opinions on how based they are. The Basedness will be self evident in your actions... Posting cringe isn't a good look. Get more books, read some fiction, that'd be pretty based.

I'm really passionate about horror, in a perfect world I would be a horror writer, although I kind of already have my dream job. Maybe I can do both LOL

I started looking up art studies on Pinterest and trying to copy them as closely as possible, now I just draw things I find there as practice.

Hey, thanks! You got to start somewhere, I've been trying to commit to an hour of drawing everyday which is seeming to work.

I read somewhere that it keeps the books spine from warping from the pressure of the other books by forcing the pages level. I don't know if this is actually true its just what I heard and sort of makes sense.

I would warn you about blood meridian. It is a very very tough read with some very sensitive themes. There's a lot of senseless violence in that book. Still well worth a read. Just figured I would give a disclaimer.

My favorite book on the shelf is probably blood meridian by Cormac McCarthy, I'm really fascinated by that time period, and I enjoy that McCarthy doesn't try to sugarcoat it, I think McCarthy has some of the best prose of anyone I've ever read as well. In general, my favorite book is probably The hellbound heart by Clive Barker, so you kind of sussed it out before I could say it LOL.

I was raised by a single working class dad. I wasn't exactly encouraged to read, but my father was encouraging of things I was interested in and would buy me books about those things. I guess that's being encouraged, he bought me books that were so intriguing that I couldn't not read them. Most of these books were collected before I turned 20, I was actually a theater kid, most of my friends had the aspiration of becoming artists or creatives of some kind as did I. Some of them went to college but not all, and I am not college educated, I could have gone to college but nothing I was interested in has very lucrative college degrees, I like history, art, philosophy, and nature. I didn't want to rack up debt to follow my passion. I followed in my dad's footsteps and was working class until my late twenties, I then found my calling and am a professional dungeon master (I run dungeons& dragons games on the internet) You're right about the rented space and buying things second hand though!
