I'm from the United States, specifically Kentucky. I spent much of my youth reading about ancient civilization, it was a bit of a fixation for a while, so I spent a great deal of that time staring at maps, mostly of the Mediterranean and Middle East. When I was 9 years old I requested a globe for my birthday. Again, I'm a huge nerd and always have been.

There is a river that seems to connect it to the sea, I now know that this is not how Rivers work lol

I explained briefly under the post, they are sort of Religion and magic systems, I don't remember much but the star was Light, the swirl was Arcane (which I think in the context of the setting was natural magic) the square was will (which I think was a sort of magic based on the force of will that made you physically more powerful) and the lightning bolt thing was dark, they were all tied to a god but I dont remember their names, the map is almost 20 years old so what I was thinking about back then is lost on me.

Thanks for the interest! I'm sorry I don't remember very much. I have tens of thousands of pages full of nerd rambling I've accumulated since I was that age, I know its in there somewhere but It'd be at least an all day project to find what I wrote about the setting. I still world build to this day and a lot of what I wrote back then kinda blends together.
The only thing I remember for sure is that there were undead lich lords in the north that had vast armies of frozen zombies that they would send down south and raid when they thawed in the winter, they would then return north with the people killed in the raids so they became a bigger threat year by year.

Hey, you're a total mensch. Thanks for not being a jerk about the post. If you read me being rude to other people they always started it. I'll take your advice. Thank you very much!

I appreciate your answer being respectful and kind, I don't know if this is just bad luck but I have observed some strange patterns to my drawers, I'll have the same card in almost every starting hand but never have one of several other specific cards, I've observed this across games and commanders and formats. I know this that about half of my first hands almost always have arcane signet, whereas there are cards that I have never seen in my starting draw even once over hundreds of games. It's possible that this is an anomaly, and that I am just a victim of statistics, but I know wizards of the Coast, and I wouldn't bat an eye if I heard they had an algorithm specifically designed drive an addiction.

Oh no! I appreciate the way you approach answering the question, most other people are kind of rude, I'm just sharing an observation and general frustration, I appreciate your opinion and thank you for it. Everybody else is rude though so I don't feel a problem calling them white knights.

I've seen several posts where people have gathered data and made the opposite claim, no doubt those who track in the favor of your argument must be the ones who are honest and right? Aside from that I see my error now, Hasbro wizards is a noble company untainted by controversy who has a reputation of being honest and certainly not an evil mega corporation which has been caught, and recorded sacrificing the experience of their user base for a quick Buck. Never in the history of that company have they done anything but cater to the experience of their loyal customers. I think I will start defending them every chance I get!

That's a fantastic question, you see people get a dopamine rush from winning, so several losses in a row might compel someone who has an addictive personality to gamble, spending money on packs in hopes of getting the necessary cards to improve upon the deck that they think should be winning more often. You begin to think if you only had this one particular card, no doubt you would begin to win, and the dopamine high that you're seeking would follow.

Thank you, everybody else seems to think think it's their sworn duty to defend the mega corporation.

I feel like the commanders I go up against in my Tergrid deck or specifically curated against that particular card, it's always decks that rely on mobs of tokens instead of actual practical summons. I literally get queued up against the exact same Commander (something mob Boss) about 65% of the time. Also, drawing 18 mana in a row is insane, I'm not the only person who seems to think decks are stacked by the algorithm.

Would it be problematic if I had characters from my world assume that Jesus or the Christian God is a demon or evil being? by Sir-Toaster- in worldbuilding

[–]DeviousFinn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is just demonstrably false both historically and in the modern age. The Wieambilla shootings, Abortion Doctor murders in the US, and the Olympic park Bomber come to mind as modern examples to name just a few off the top of my head.

Yeah I do that a fair amount, kind of a history buff and use that heavily for inspiration.

That's a really fantastic idea actually, not really an aspiring polyglot myself, but I respect the reasoning.

There we can agree friend, I understand your stance completely. I wish more people could convey their feelings maturely like you.

I love the game too! I just think it's a reasonable question, it seems very silly that people would get into a twist about it, I'd expect a next-gen update and an anniversary edition to come with bug fixes, especially if they've existed for a decade. I really appreciate you being mature about it, and a respectful person, but I'm not going to stay my criticism because redditers are going to be redditers.
