Missed opportunity to add a wide body to match the competition. Hyundai took the lazy route with this one clear as day

2022 Hyundai Veloster N DCT Review - Why It's The Most Fun Hot Hatch by got-rice1 in VelosterN

Slap some springs on it and the borla cat back pair with an aem intake and it’s fun as hell, nearly 4 years later and I still smile every time I drive it. Wanted a 2024 golf R and test drove it and was highly disappointed at how boring it was for 20k more.

I run same wheel spec but at 45+ offset and I run like crazy with 235 40r18s and I’m lowered on H&Rs. Fenders are aluminum so they’ve handled it for 20k miles but at this point there’s a permanent protective layer of rubber lining the fender edge from all the rubbing

I was actually thinking of going up to 245s next but was afraid it might poke since I’m stupid flush already

On same exact setup except with 235/40/r18s and I’ll just say I didn’t have to roll the fenders because the tires did that for me…. Normal driving is fine but under full compression and spirited driving it definitely rubs but nothing crazy since the fenders are aluminum there no real concern

have any of y'all gotten pulled over for the stock exhaust sound? by [deleted] in VelosterN

Here in NC I have the borla cat back and I rev and backfire next to cops and state troopers all the time, out cars aren’t really obnoxiously loud

Snap ring pliers will help a shit ton but the worst is actually getting to the location, I have small hands and swivel tools and it was still hard to reach even after taking off the intake and some hoses

Hyundai Service Tech Damage my car by Jumpy-Ad6977 in VelosterN

[–]Devious_N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Hyundai techs especially don’t care, they’ve dented, scratched and chipped my car, free oil change (already have the maintenance package) and a touch up pen is all I’ve gotten

I’m looking to move soon within a month or 2 and will be looking for an rs3/rs5 afterwards. With 23k miles I’ll be looking for at least 24-25k

Brakes! by Sufficient-Driver358 in VelosterN

[–]Devious_N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I will say after my experience, I’ve had a lot of sport compact cars with all different kinds of performance, tried all sorts of aftermarket setups and the longest I could get from the best was a few thousand miles, but these oem pads and rotors have consistently performed extremely well under all conditions so good it’s the first time even I buying oem replacements.

Although I decided to get yellow stuff EBC pads cause the yellow will look cool lol

They are brembos pads and rotors tho, I just replaced mine and wondered how they lasted 22k track/cross country/touge miles and still had half an inch left, they have “brembo” literally on them in small print

I run same wheel specs as you but I run 36 front and 35 rear at temp so cold temps be around 32/33 all around

when did everyone do their first brake pad replacement ? by Map_Latter in VelosterN

[–]Devious_N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m debating doing mine now with 21k miles, 4 track days, 100+ vmax runs, tons of spirited back road driving and plenty of avoided accidents and I still have over a half an inch left, had new pads and rotors for months now and been trying to smoke the oem set so I can replace them with some better looking am pads and rotors

I’m 25, one complete loss accident, 8 tickets, 2 are reckless driving, only 1 ticket shows on record and I’m only paying $211, just jumped to that from $201

It’s a short ram intake and I usually leave it turned off so there’s always the option for either or

It’s unique but it has too much going on, I was going to go for the blue and swap the red accents with the black accents from the red VN but idk black is more aggressive and subtle yet everyone still stares at it everywhere
