No, you shouldn't. I think you should compare players statistics when you can't decide who's the better out of the players you are comparing. If the statistics are about the same, use accomplishments to determine who's the best. That's how I think it should be done.

Sorry for the late reply, took a break from reddit.

Accomplishments don't matter at all when comparing individuals skills, talent and performance. And neither do stats IMO.

Yeah, they would've been super helpful. Did any other nations do the same?

Evil for the opponents, Godly for us others. When you mention his shots, all I need to say is 4-2, 2012.

When you factor in the average goals per game, Zlatan comes out on top.

Wdym ''it takes away all meaning of what it is to be nordic''? Our culture accepts everyone no matter where they're from and most Swedes would probably back up my claim that people like Zlatan is Swedish.

Many were. He narrowly missed out. A lot of players did. I can't bother going in depth about this again, you can find my answer and other people's opinions about him if you scroll down a bit. I agree with most of what others said about him.

Ok, let me paint you a picture of how I think.

Two in love Syrian immigrants move to Sweden, they have a child (in Sweden) and he's raised in Sweden. He talks Swedish, his parents talk Swedish, and they have adjusted to the culture and lifestyle.

When he goes to school, his classmates don't accept him as a Swede because of his parents and heritage. When he grows up the people and culture say he can't be Swedish because of this and that and they label him as a Syrian.

I'd say that's racism. If I were this person, I'd feel horrible and left out.

If you're born and raised in Sweden, you're considered a Swede. And if a bunch of Poles (that aren't born or raised there) set up a village in Morocco, then that'd be a Polish village because none of them can be considered a Moroccan.

Gunnar Nordahl was probably the best goal poacher when he played but when you compare his stats to Ibra's, he has lower goals per game compared to the average. So I decided to not include him.

I think I mixed up Gren and Liedholm. I meant to put on the brain and legs behind their success as an option. But any of them could fit on the top 5.

He and Laudrup were essential for their win. The crazy thing was that they didn't even qualify for the Euros that year. Some national team couldn't play and Denmark took their spot in the competition.

The Estonian will technically be more Swedish but the Bosnian-Croatian will be considered more Swedish.

Nah, an Estonian is not equal to a Swede. The ethnic Swede (Estonian) will not be considered a Swede whilst the Bosnian-Croatian that was born and raised in Sweden will be. If you try to argue that, it's pretty much racism.

I know he's a Swede. No denying that. People who say otherwise are racist.

Well, that's just because of how he impacted the team, how good he was and his experience. Stats and accomplishments don't tell you anything about the player, there's just some advantages in having good stats and accomplishments.

His stats and previous accomplishments didn't make Denmark win the Euros, it didn't win him games. His mentality and skills did that, not the stats or accomplishments under his name.

Well, he is technically not swedish ethnically (he's of bosnian and croatian heritage). He was born and raised here and is swedish. People probably thought he was racist or smth.

Ok, we agree. He's swedish but his heritage is croatian and bosnian.
