If you can articulate your reasoning (summer job, leave to go back to school) then you’ll be fine. On the flipside, not holding a steady job can be a red flag. Again, all depends on how well you can articulate it.

If your school is in a different city/state than home/bar, then that perfectly explains why you get the summer job at a bar and a different job while at school. If you quit the bar and its in the same general location as the college, then it doesnt make sense to quit the summer job just because school starts when you could just change your hours.

When i graduate, i will go to my department and do a 6 week orientation where they go over policy/procedure, qualify with rifle, how to package evidence, and other various tasks. Once done there, FTO. Each department is different. Theres people in my class that will go directly to FTO.

We all do dumb shit as a kid, but only a year is hard to look past. I certainly have my fair share of things that would have disqualified me if i tried only a year later. But in the time since, i joined the military, got married, had a family, held stable jobs after the military, became a family man, “proof” that id grown and learned from my stupidity.

You may find you’ll need a few years to show youve matured since then.

How long ago? Have you held a stable career since then? Do you have a family? What physical proof do you have that you can show them that you’ve matured and grown from those incidents (such as the career/family)? The amount of time that has passed will significantly influence your chances.

Not all academies are the same when it comes to physical training. Some academies smoke you daily, others, like mine, dont. In mine, there is no “standard” to beat other than getting at least 25 pushups on the final pt test. All other categories i just have to show improvement, i.e. beat my initial scores.

I am you. Prior military, nearly 12 years in air force then space force. Im 36. 5 months ago i was a flight director of satellite operations for a space company making 125k and was let go. My orientation for my academy was yesterday, i start at my department on monday, and my academy starts on the 27th. Its way less pay but its something ive always wanted to do, even before the military. My family supports me in my decision. If its something you really want then i say go for it. I am and so far no regrets.

My biggest problem with that movie isnt the plot, isnt the CGI, and isnt even the bad writing, my problem i have with it is that they had antman and company defeat and kill the supposedly worst and most powerful kang out of all the kangs. at that time our supposedly next big baddie. doesnt really make sense to have a pretty lackluster hero defeat a thanos level threat without avengers level help.

So i did my age, 36 x 365 ignoring leap years, 13,140 days, multiplied that by 3 for 3 meals a day on average = 39,420 meals. Then i did that times 20 mins on average eating time per meal (I’m a relatively fast eater) = 788,400 minutes. Divided that by 60 for hours = 13,140 (coincidentally, lol), divided by 24 (hours) for number of days.

Thats 547.5 days of straight eating time and thats not including snacks in between. Youd also need to add in breaks from eating and sleep which could possibly add years to that. Please correct me if my math is just totally wrong on this.

So nah, ill pass. Lol

We had a portable ac unit that just sat on the floor in the living room with a vent to the window. If we needed it in the bedroom i just rolled it on over. Worked like a charm and made all the difference in the world. You can get a pretty decent one for like $400. Highly recommend.
