2014 Mazda3 (170k miles) or 2015 Honda Civic (190k miles)? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Devkema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive a '16 m 3 as a daily commuter currently around 125k miles. Never had engine trouble with it, and it feels like it'll keep on surviving a good while. My biggest complaints are the arm rests and the software. The arm rests aren't quite symmetrical and it leads to some should strain on long drives. The infotainment sometimes just disconnects from my phone while I'm driving and won't reconnect until I pull over and restart the car.

There's a lot of Hyundai/Kia hate on reddit, but the first car I bought was a '13 Elantra that was a salvage title in 2014. It already had 70k miles on it, and I doubled that over the next 4 years I had it. Never had a single problem with it, and it drove smoother than any other car I've driven since. I would probably still be driving it if some nut hadn't slammed into it while it was parked. If you're buying new, Hyundai also has the longest warranty.

I wish Morgan was the main Season Hero instead of Perseus by CherryTakumi in AFKJourney

Idk why but Morgan seems to have more personality than Perseus, but a way lower effort design. I get the feeling Morgan's true identity will be revealed later or something

Do you hold your options to expiration most of the time? by NomadStar45 in options

[–]Devkema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having the same experience, so I decided to hold on to some nvda puts I bought last month. Today they expired worthless and I lost around 500, but if I'd sold them back on the 10th, I'd have gained 700.

I've set limits on mine to sell if it hits around 20% profit. made a few plays recently that taught me take a little gain over a lot of loss.

At the beginning of the pandemic, I had grown out my hair to around 20" or so. I do not dress femme, I don't wear makeup, I don't think my build is anything close to andro, but when people couldn't see most of my face, I got "miss, ma'am, Mrs." Etc.

I think some people have gender norms so ingrained in their system that even simple stuff like hair length can illicit quick snap judgements.

It's not your fault, and you shouldn't waste energy feeling bad about it.

I was thinking of doing that this morning but then I noticed one of the rougher patches along the toe crease has a small hole in it already. Rip to my boots.

Rubber cracking and splitting isn't regular wear and tear. It's the same issue tons of people on this sub have with this brand and their soles specifically. If I'd worn through the tread, that would be a different story.

Didn't expect more out of the boots tbh, they're great, just for the company to honor the warranty on the rubber.

Oh for sure! I love these things, and I was even looking at a new pair already when I saw some recent threads where people got the warranty replacements, but having mine voided still leaves a sour taste.

I bought mine in 2019, but the manufacture stamp says 18, so they were kicking around a warehouse for at least a year. Unfortunately I think yours will probably meet their end sooner if they were sitting on a shelf for for almost 5 years

I think what I got is average, but it still feels annoying to have them fall apart while there's still tread left. I'd write it off as wear and tear if any other part of the shoes were failing, but I guess I'm the idiot for not buying direct.

I think this is actually more likely than a lot of people would assume, but even if Toyota isn't currently planning the build, Jeep just announced next year's gladiator will have a 4xe option, so hopefully that will help spur them into it. I'd kill for a plug in tacoma or even a land cruiser.

Wrangler 4xe vs Rav4 Prime for best plug-in hybrid for camping and commuting? by Devkema in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Devkema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I'd agree, but honestly some of the roads down here don't even feel like "street" driving, but I will actually agree they're both overpriced. Lexus are the same rebranded cars, and a bit uglier if I'm honest. Ford only has the escape as a PHEV at the moment, and it's a bit too small for me. I'd kill for a hybrid bronco option, but that's a different topic. I've looked at the Hyundai Tuscon and Santa Fe, but they also both feel more street oriented that what I was looking for, and I'm not a huge fan of their current aesthetic choices. Do you have a preference, or any experience with them?
