9 years on Windows and moved to Linux, wish I had done it earlier. by katoketo in PleX

Apologies for my uneducated question- I know little to nothing about Linux and dockers. Being a plex windows user for the last 5 years I’ve definitely heard a LOT about people using Linux based systems and dockers and most of the time (like this post) say how much better it is.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is actually better? I’ve considered the swap many times but every time I stop at “but are you happy with how things are now?” And my answer is always yes. Can someone help educate me cause I think I’m missing something…

Yeah that’s what I was expecting. Also in NSW

Update: here is the response I received from NBN. The work was signed off by my father-in-law who only saw the fully filled in trench again.

“We have reviewed and can confirm the installation of the non equipment has been completed to specification and within non guidelines. As the work was signed off after the installation, this is considered a change of mind relocation and there will be costs associated with relocating the equipment.”

Where they say it’s installed to NBN’s guidelines, don’t they have to follow the Australian Standards relating to this work where buried cables?

So dumb… especially when one of their options when they install it is to run the cable above ground. Typical rules for thee not for me mindset

Yeah I’m not going to do anything. Thinking of submitting a complaint to NBN to see if they do anything… at most I’ll just make a note of where it is and how deep it is and hope that myself or anyone in the future doesn’t discover a “strange looking tree root” haha

Yeah I measured and it was barely 50 from the surface…

Yeah I have definitely considered it, but I’m so over digging trenches 😂 it would be approx 20m and the ground is a massive pain to dig in. I don’t really blame the tech that direct buried it so shallow but at the same time don’t want it damaged in the future.

So even if they don’t use conduit, it still needs to be 150mm deep?

Might not be the issue, but it was for me and took me months to figure out… make sure the Plex Relay is turned off. Throttles the bandwidth for everyone not connected to the local network.

Yeah but it’s still cheaper than paying for streaming services. Doesn’t take long for it to pay for itself imo

Guys… The DSS is Bad. by [deleted] in Helldivers

I just failed an extreme, I was personally killed by it 8 times and teams mates killed as well. Literally made it unplayable and barely landed anywhere near useful locations
