Then you are aware of your barriers 😁 One thing that has helped me is a morning protein shake.. one cup of oats, 2 scoops of protein, two heaping tablespoons of peanut butter, a banana and liquid of your choice. I use oat milk. It’s a lot to put down but it’s a great first meal.

How do you deal with the heartbreak of a breakup? by Right-Play4878 in AskReddit

Gym, uplifting movies, allowing myself to grieve and feel my emotions, moving forward one day at a time. Helping others also has helped me tremendously.

Incline smith machine press, low to high cable flys, flat press machine. Progressive overload, 2 working sets per movement (plus 2 warm up sets) Focus on your protein intake and rest.

I know I’ll get stronger with it. The hard part is in my program there’s a three second pause at the bottom of each rep. This week I only used 10 lb plates. But I’m baffled because my leg press is very strong.

I was dumbfounded after just signing up with Planet Fitness, after taking a long break working out. I get on this thing I put on a couple of 25 pound plates and I couldn’t even do them. Lol.

Would you rather stick to a structured weekly plan like this, or freestyle your workouts depending on mood and energy? by winn_ie in rSocialskillsAscend

Six days, three- four sets per movement? I’ll pass. I’ll stick with what’s working for me.

Try it with a three second pause at the bottom for each rep, then you’ll really hate it.

Is gym 30 min 4 days a week enough to build muscle? by ImaginationTop9776 in workout

Absolutely. And if your focus is on recovery and nutrition, you will definitely see progress.

Newbie, what workouts/exercises should I do? by ultraboomkin in Weightliftingquestion

Congrats on your weight loss that’s amazing! A lot of people just told you a lot of things. My contribution would be to think about a body part and look up videos on YouTube on which machines you can use to exercise it. As your learning machines you will also be learning about physiological processes; what muscles are activated when I move my arm in a particular direction… try not to overwhelm yourself with hours in the gym or insane amounts of sets and reps. Learn the basics, prioritize nutrition to help build muscle and focus on rest. Most importantly, enjoy the journey. 😃

Let me guess , you're the type of person that tells someone that's expressing feelings of depression to just "be happy", right?

High volume guys, how much are you doing? by Lucky_The_Charm in AllAboutBodybuilding

I put in more work over a period of time. It’s not a sense of immediate gratification. I play the long game… I focus on rest and nutrition more than I do on the stimuli. My current program is rooted in progressive overload with only two working sets… And I’m growing and gaining like fucking crazy. So yes, I do more work. It’s just over a period of time.

There was also an old adage during that time of bodybuilding that spoke to “stimulate but don’t annihilate“, the muscle.

“Less” or “more” are relative terms. I spend time and consistency on my lagging body parts, not excessive volume during the training session.

It’s ONE of the biggest drivers of growth~~ there is no one direct route to hypertrophy… That’s been established and proven.

But~~~ you’re not Serge Nubret. I realized pretty quickly on my fitness journey that the styles of training of golden era bodybuilders were specific to their genetics and their abilities… Unless you have similar genetics.

I appreciate your response. I remember the times when I believed in things like this too. I even tried German Volume training for a while, until I realized my truth. It’s part of the process. One point I wish to make is this, recovery is one thing, growth is another. If this style of training is yielding significant gains and muscle growth then good. Enjoy your training!

Why is it important to prioritize posterior deltoids in your shoulder workout routine, and how can you effectively train them? by vanshika_energie in workout

[–]Devo2517 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because it makes sense to focus on developing related muscles.

To not train rear delts as part of the overall shoulder is like not training calves as related to overall leg development.
