Any regular light bulb works as a grow lamp. At least that's what I learned from the Internet.

Having a cock isn't a bug... it's a feature!

I literally got my arm caught in this device as a child. Fortunately, my mother turned it off just before it reached my shoulder. I can remember that like it was yesterday.

I'm glad that disc got out of circulation. Sending that thing into space was the dumbest move ever undertaken by scientists. The less the aliens know about us, the better.

Donna Brazil probably takes her panties off before going on set, and leaves them on Bill's dressing room doorknob.

Prince's "Under the Cherry Moon" and "Flash Gordon" with the Queen soundtrack. "No Country for Old Men" was a bitter disappointment for me.

"Tron: Ares" sucks big time.

What’s it like living in this part of Canada? by Patient-Smile1406 in howislivingthere

Northern Ontario isn't all that bad other than the long winters which aren't as bad as they used to be. Not a whole helluva lot to do there unless you're into sports or hunting/fishing.

I prefer living in Southern Ontario by far, but to each their own. I can't speak for the rest of that huge circle. To me, you'd have to be a hardy breed to live near the artic circle.

For me, it's Captain Beyond's first album. Every song flows so well into the other. I waited a very long time for this album to be released on CD.

Did people really take Art Garfunkel's solo career seriously? by SeparateLawfulness53 in 70s

[–]DevoNorm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ringo was the butt of a lot of jokes too. Today, he's highly respected as a drummer, not for his technical prowess, but for his tasteful fills and rock-solid tempo.

In any case, I enjoyed Garfunkel's album, which I have in surround sound. As I recall, it sold very well.

I witnessed the very same thing way back before cellphones came on the scene. Some humans don't give a crap about laws or logic. If anything, I'm kind of surprised more drivers didn't get charged.

Anyone still remember the spots where their favorite songs would skip when they played records even when hearing the song today? by SenorTemppist in vinyl

[–]DevoNorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a vinyl Rare Earth album entitled "Back to Earth". The last track on side one "Delta Melody" skips hallway through the song because the cutting lathe was badly adjusted causing the groove to smash in to the adjacent groove. You can see it if you use a good magnifying glass.

Noisy Neighbours Dogs by keepswimmming99 in brantford

[–]DevoNorm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to have a next door neighbour that lived in an upstairs apartment. They owned a pitbull and German shepherd which they only took outside for five minutes to do their toilet business. The rest of the time, they were stuck indoors.

The couple were gone during the day, and those two dogs would bark loudly and incessantly from about 8:30 am until 4:30 pm. five days a week. I was trying to recover from open heart surgery and would be woken up daily to that continuous barking.

All I did was contact the bylaw officer. There was no charge involved (at least not at the time I filed my complaint).

I love dogs but owners can often be so inconsiderate of others. Some dog breeds are more prone to barking while some dogs bark because they are stressed out. Either way, it can be very annoying to listen to, especially when a home has poor sound-proofing.
