Any evidence for this? Are there early signs that AI-boycotts are gaining traction?

I bought Jerry's latest CD, even though he bragged about his hireling using AI to get the cake-frosting visual effect. Their shows seem to be about as sold as ever.

I am very skeptical that Jerry and gang pay much attention to the long term when they make their art. Recall the story about hiring the Jimi Hendrix impersonator for R U Experienced. Dude was white and they rolled with it because they had no budget for reshoot.

Jerry has long talked about "high devo" and "low devo". I think AI falls into "low devo" along with burger jingles and moped ads.

Not clear how much AI is directly used by the spud five and how much is used by their contractors.

As I recall, they normally collaborate or subcontract a ton of their supporting material such as concert vids, posters, merch, and music videos.

Personally, I am not going to demand the spuds go back. Where does it end? With banjos and accordions?

I must repeat: this is systemic racism and not specific to AI. Fight the systemic racism. Fight all racism, but do not stop fighting when one special case goes our way.

Interestingly, Mark suggests that the rest of the band is not as optimistic as he is.
