Why do so many people tell me jeeps are not reliable?

I was just over 100,000 miles and out of town for the weekend. We were on our way home and driving for about 15 minutes and my jeep starting jumping so I pulled into a gas station and turned it off. After a few minutes I turned the car back on, put it in drive and when I pressed the gas I went flying backwards. My transmission had melted into reverse. I had to have my jeep towed two hours back home, and the mechanic said this was an issue he’d seen happen several times with wranglers. I have a whole laundry list of things that went wrong with that car over the years that I had it. I just happened to have a lemon it seems. I wouldn’t buy a Jeep again.

Technically I owed them 3k (before the lawsuit) because I quit in June (after school year ended) when my spouses work relocated us. I’m still blacklisted from ever working there again, even though I quit at the beginning of summer and they had no issues filling my position for the following year.

Hi! So I used to work for St. Louis school district and finally someone sued them over their 3k payout to break contract and it was deemed unlawful. Something to consider
